Hey CGB, I've learned so much from watching your content, I absolutely love it! A cool trick I've found when playing the cycling deck is to zenith flare post "attack all" combat because the opponents will block your valiant rescuers or drannith stringers which sends them to the graveyard and adds to the zenith flare!

The issue is with cycling and lands is at the beginning of the game you will probably have too few lands but since there are no good cycling lands in standard towards the end you will begin flooding. Edit: by good cycling I mean cycling at 1 or two Mana. Not how good the land is

Earlier today I was playing around with my Izzet Burst Deck. Looking at this, I realize cycling is basically burst, but you put all the power into one card super late game with one specific spell. I think it makes sense to run Negate since Flare is the one spell you need to make it work. I'd love to see CGBs take on a competitive Izzet burst deck though. A combo of Double Vision and Mirrormade are what I run with mine along with Slaying Fire, Shock and Inescapable Blaze, and card draw to reload - of course.

The problem with adding lands to the cycling deck is that you will flood out faster, as cycling decks do(that’s why the draft decks cut lands on a per 1 mana cycle basis), as in I have x one mana cycles so I will cut y lands. I did it as a one mana cycler counts as 2/3rds of a land

Against rogues you need to ignore board presence in favor of getting early flares, which means skipping the creatures and ONLY cycling. You NEED to have at least 1, preferably 2 flares in hand and at least 4 lands by turn 3 because of how hard the mill can be. Actually having watched a few more matches, you focus WAY too much on board state for playing a deck entirely based on tapping out for card draw. The goal with cycling is to ignore the board almost entirely and focus on getting your cycles in the graveyard and flares/lands in hand.

i use shatter the skys for aggro and savai triomes and memory leaks for counters if its a long game. the problem with the deck is it makes you expect to be ahead on the board when thats not actually optimal all the time

I find Memory Leak better than Footfall crater, as u can take out ultimatums and check for counters when u play against rogues. And the black mana is easy to splash with the pathways + it's a cycle card for 1

This deck juust has to almost auto concede against an elspeth's nightmare! If you are holding up a zenith flare you should cast it before chapter two, and after chapter three well then its a dead draw. The game plan of the deck is to dump ten or so cards in the graveyard to zenith flare to close out the game, this uncommon will singlehandedly make you lose. The only way you win against yorion doom is with faeries, and even that loses to doom and chapter one of the nightmare archon and yorion himself.

I like cycling the life leach on the stinger. Thanks to the shuffler BS and cycling decks full of common cards. The red cycling Godzilla comes up a lot. Even with deck shuffling you will find your cycling in Godzilla before you have the mana. I like cycling in the insta death touch running a red black white deck. Easy prey goes a long way.

At 9:40 you should have tried to cycle into a land, not fight their creature. After you untap but before your draw (assuming they mill you out) you can flare.

Valiant rescuer and improbable alliance are not very good in cycling... Valiant rescuer is too expensive to cycle (2 manas) and the 1/1 tokens never get trough. Improbable alliance is a little bit better but you can't cycle it and to make a token on the opponent's turn, you need to cycle twice. The best is to cycle over and over again until Zenith flare is strong enough to beat your opponent and use a counterspell or dual strike to make sure it will resolves.
