I’ve literally been running a budget version of this deck for the last week, not using 2x unleashes in a turn necessarily but the infuriates go a LONG way. One thing that would help ensure combo success is birgi, I run 3 of in mine and when she sticks it’s hell on earth for the opponent as I unload my whole hand into their face on turn 4, also you need from my experience at least 8 dual lands in your deck to get there because for entity you need either 2 blue + opt or 2 red + shock to consistently get the creature out...mana screw is real with this deck cause if you don’t hit your third land you get stuck BAD, otherwise not terrible

This deck has similar mana requirements as Rogues, substituting in Red for Black. Therefore, I'd suggest starting with that mana base, with the obvious substitutions. Doing that, I get: 5 Island 4 Mountain 4 Riverglide Pathway 4 Temple of Epiphany 4 Fabled Passage 2 Shatterskull Smashing 2 Raugrin Triome Crucially, the extra Triomes and Fabled Passages get you to 19 blue and 20 red sources, which lets you much more easily cast a sprite dragon on turn 2, or phoenix/borrower on turn 3: strategy.channelfireball.com/all-strategy/mtg/channelmagic-articles/how-many-colored-mana-sources-do-you-need-to-consistently-cast-your-spells-a-guilds-of-ravnica-update/

Omen of the Sea, opt and Castle Vantress plus the scry off of riddleform and the temple is why you used to flood. Tempo vs aggro equals different deck building strats and therefore diffrent mana. The game adjusts for this. Hence the screw.

I have been playing a version of the first deck. Has about a 55% win rate in Diamond, slowly working up to Mythic. Not the best deck to level with, but fun. The Shock is a flex card and have been trying many different cards instead, the rest of the deck is solid though, but more a fun deck then a competitive one. I do get Turn 3 kills about 5% of the time. Kill card is Hemophage. 4 Pollywog Symbiote 4 Birgi, God of Storytelling 4 Sea-Dasher Octopus 4 Vadrok, Apex of Thunder 4 Insatiable Hemophage 4 Dreamtail Heron 4 Shock 4 Open the Omenpaths 4 Valakut Awakening 4 See the Truth 4 Blightstep Pathway 4 Clearwater Pathway 3 Island 5 Mountain 4 Riverglide Pathway

I really think the 4 opts is needed for this deck to help you dig and set up for a combo through a flood and or just to 1 mana cantrip and buff your creatures as well.
@hcgtrplaya929863 жыл бұрын
Opt actually is better as a 3-of rather than 4-of...I’ve run this deck roughly 200+ times with varying success and more often than not you’ll find yourself with 2-3 opts in hand and either a) not enough blue to make it work, or b) too much stuff on the field that needs a bounce..opt gets a trade in cards but at the loss of much-needed mana for better pump spells...it would be better to have pump spells that also draw
