To complement, the "Leaps" (or should I call it Numbers?) mechanic only does 50% of your HP bar so don't panic and just heal up if you are low, but you can mitigate the damage with barrier/shroud or even block it with shield skills if your class has one.

My experience with a new Fractal: 1) Start at T1 to learn the mechanics and look up the Wiki to see what info is on there 2) Practice several times at lower tiers to make sure I understand the mechanics right 3) Finally ready to try a T4 but still nervous, worried I'll underperform and anger the rest of my group 4) Work up the courage to join a T4 5) No one else in the group has ever set foot in this Fractal and just jumped straight into Level 100 without looking anything up. Also one guy have 70 AR

Additional tips: 1. You can "dismount" the zipline (arrow at the bottom left or dismount key) to have more maneuverability in the air. Helps with the achievement. 2. Another thing for the achievement: you can grapple the green crystals right after coming out of the windtube. 3. Closest entity to the boss is tanking! Boss does cleave attacks, that do hurt quite a bit. 4. Move into aother players beam at the 66 and 33% to get the add (healer stand in the middle so dps can get your add). Hope it helps a bit.

It's really not that hard tho. I got my achieve on my second ever visit to the Fractal, since in the first one I specifically joined a Blind one to get more time in. Being able to drop down a Zipline early is extremely important to get better aerial control.

Silent Surf was the Tier 3 daily rec yesterday. The group I was in via the LFG, who were all experienced fractal players, just refused to play this fractal and went straight to the Tier 2 daily rec. It will be interesting to see if this attitude to Silent Surf is (1) widespread, and (2) persists with guides like this now available.

The two times I have do this fractal, we sometimes haven't had the adds go to the side islands. They tether, disappear, then no marker appears for anyone saying where they went, so run a few laps incase the marker is bugged and boom...

Tip: if you're using action camera mode, it's almost impossible to hook to the island on the last boss, go back to point and click and zoom out so you can target the island easy.

The 66% and 33% adds aren't random! They target the closest person to them with their orange beams, so that mechanic can be kited and baited. Other players can also steal the fixate from each other, so what my group has found is that right before those phases the dps can just run into the hit boxes of the adds around the arena to guarantee they get it. You can also pop open your special action key during that phase to know for sure if you have an add to go kill - if you don't, you won't have any charges, but if you do, you'll have 2 grappling hook charges. Just don't be like me and grapple over to an island but then get so eager to start attacking that you accidentally grapple AGAIN and launch yourself down into the pit underneath. BUT huge thanks for the environmental intensity setting tip, I'm already a blind old lady so seeing some of these was really difficult!

My group would get outside demons during other random times in the fight. We thought killing those lowered his defiance bar stacks. Also, if you don't break CC. The next CC bar will be in the position of the last CC. So if you do 80% to the defiance bar. There will only be 20% left at the next one.

Yes you get a red x on the mini map others cant see that. And its random so if you miss to see the blue beam in the heat of the fight check the mini map I think first is around 66 % at the bossfight

@@gustavmetal it took 2 tries, the first time we did it with my quickness firebrand, and his tempest but wasnt able to beat it that way... It didnt go so well. When I switched to my reaper and he switched to a bit more support with alacrity (not much but it was something) it was soo much easier. However it did take like 20 minutes. But it worked out. All I have to say is this was easier than Sunqua Peak on normal mode. It wasnt easy but it wasnt impossible either. It just required alot of patience.

When you break the defiance bar the boss gets a "Dread Defiance" that says his bloodlust increases, thought that means he gets stronger so we've been avoiding CCing the boss.

Some of these mechanic remind me of some in FFXIV which i think is a very good thing. I know they want to distinguish themselves from other MMOs BUT taking cues and tips from a formula thats been known to work, i think is a very good direction to go for, cant wait to see what they release next!

Yeah dealing with special adds and the look away mechanic reminded me a lot of ffxiv. One of my favorite fractals with the unique platforming and challenging boss fight that is more than stack and fight.

The jumping jumping prior to the boss is the actual showstopper here. The boss is not hard. i like fractals, but the have too many jump sections, puzzles, minigames and skips and very little actual combat 😢

I really liked this platforming level. The first run you get to explore and learn the movement abilities and the following runs you optimize and it's such a breeze as you cross big distances and maneuver quickly. Although if you don't like platforming at all then yeah this would suck, but I think it's still better than the fractals where you have to nail like 10 consecutive jumps or start over.

The boss doesn't hit hard, AND his main high damage mechanic can be straight up dodged/cheesed. Given enough time and a half decent sustain build, most streamers can indeed just solo him.

I know it sounds really mean, but the average IQ of a gw2 player is on the lower side. It takes so long to teach them even the simplest mechanics it's kinda nuts. What's really nuts is when the ones failing mechanics are playing something truly brain dead like reaper or mechanist. And by god there's so many of them.

@@crimsonpotemkin i remember being in complete shock when people described boneskinner as one of the hardest strikes and the literal only mechanic is walking to the left and sometimes slotting a projectile reflect when the supports cant figure out how to do that

@@blasagna1892 I know right, it took me an entire second to register what I had to do and I never even got to make that mistake. The one time that the attack got me was way later when I unlocked the mastery to do the hadouken attack. It animation locks you, so you gotta be careful. Other than that the fight is legit braindead. Even if you're doing a full revenant rotation and mantaining a ventari bubble it's still too fucking easy. Blows my mind.
