I went to junior high and high school in a very small town. Our teachers would routinely use us to move heavy boxes and other items. Not just boys, but girls as well. I remember carrying heavy boxes of files from one building to another. When someone higher up found out about this, the teachers had hell to pay. They honestly didn't think they were doing anything wrong. I work for an insurance company now and we insure a lot of farmers and ranchers. It's a requirement that they train their employees in the use of farm machinery. You don't just stick someone in front of a tractor or a shredder and expect them to figure things out on their own. I work in the claims department and I've seen some awful things where people were either not trained or were careless and ended up getting horribly injured or even killed. There are a lot of Simons out there.

My goodness, Nedwell works very hard. Beautiful delivery, with a Shakesperian lilt. the mix of professional actors with workers at the Abbey National Building Society head office is inspired. Very disjunctive -- almost like an accident in itself, its an epistemological disturbance. Highlights: 13-55. the impassive lady 14.23. the most beautiful computer I have ever seen 17-40. "Come on, Eileen " (this is 1982, Dexy's Midnite Runner's song is released in June 1982. Which came first?) 21-09 the first aider is terrified of evening on camera Thanks for this Mr Ephemera.

"Dear, oh dear. You know it's the same every morning? There you are, expecting a nice quiet day when along comes Don, who causes more havoc than a coachload of tourists in Harrods." Gotta love that subtle British wit lol

I thought there was going to be a twist at the end....when Robin says "Either follow their example or learn from it." then walks out of shot, I expected to hear a loud thud followed by "OWW!!"..

When I was in nursing school orientation, i was blown away that maintinance had to have a guy take time out of his day to come up and tell us "For the love of God, if you have a broken three prong outlet, don't force it...call us" I say i was blown away bc if he's having to warn us, someone's tried it..probably multiple times..common sense ain't so common anymore.

Yes, it did . The first versions were produced by Volkswagen between 1974-1983.

The car at 0:37 is an Austin Mini Metro. Car colours got a bit more sensible by the 1980s. In the 70s it was possible to own a BL Mini or Allegro in poo brown or 'baby diahorreah' greeny brown!

And so, the elf'n'safety nazis took over. Where I worked, on the railway, we HAD to sometimes effect our own repairs. Or it wouldn't be fixed ! Much of this film seems to be people just not using their common sense.

River Huntingdon TBF it’s in an office for products and other such things so I doubt many of the workers could do anything about electrics or fixing certain things.
