Get you kids into mountain bikes at the Family Funduro (Austin, TX)

This week, we go back to when I still lived in Austin. I was invited by Jeremiah to attend the 2018 Family Funduro and could not have been more excited to see what he was creating! This event helps brings families together for a day filled with wild rides, food, and prizes!

We have a local kids ride that Club Scrub puts on twice a year. We had like 300 show up. It was amazing!

Love the concept. It’s so hard to get the family into it, so this type of event definitely helps. As a family we wouldn’t have to sacrifice precious time away from being together, and our kids get in on the stoke. 👍🏻

It is a great idea! Everyone gets to be a part of the race, even if they don't ride. It's also great to meet other families at these events to find people to go to other events with.

Great video man! I'm finally gonna start racing enduro. Texas Enduro will be my first race. Wish I didn't have to move this weekend otherwise I'd definitely be at Spider Mountain for their inaugural race.

I really think you would be pleasantly surprised with the normal Enduro races around Austin. There's a lot of categories to enter, and everyone is super laid-back.

Yeah man a Denver Family Funduro would be epic! I've never raced because it takes time away from everyone, but would love to give it a go, so that seems like a great way to get involved and not leave the fam behind.

Jeremiah Work I have only been MTB riding for 1 year and I live in Tasmania (an island state of Australia) We just had the EWS down here and it was voted no.1 track in the world, so EWS is coming back in 2019. I could work on finding out who to put you in touch with here and you can take it from there. The enduro world series was held in Derby Tasmania which are all new tracks and we have plenty more being built all over. A real buzz going on here at the moment. But I have a family and as you guessed it I understand what you are trying to do. We have plenty of good weather down here with perfect conditions, starting now :) I think your idea has the potential to sweep the globe so I would love to help you start it in Australia (i can't do much but i could talk to the locals about it if you would like)? I will be volunteering on the 2019 EWS track build so maybe that is a good place for contacts. Let me know if you are interested and I could get the ball rolling for you.

I don't know of any enduro event's like this, so far only enduro events are part of the 20/80 enduro, but it does not have any thing like this, I have seen some bike parks have nice trails for every category, so events like these could be held, but not heard of any. but in the city where I live there are rarely any bike events, the latest even was women's tour of Norway, which is a road race, one stage went trough the city, but this brings out families, and kids races are held too at the same day. but there are kids races are Norway, Birken is a famous xc race, there is teen race, which is a lot shorter just few Kms, & kids races too which is not timed. the adult race is 86km. birkebeiner.no/no/sykkel I haven't done any racing. this is not a topic I have researched much.
