This was timely - I was able to revive my 10 year old Dedica with this, I thought I had finally lost it yesterday. This is a machine that has seen multiple uses a day and moved cross-country with me, so I've become a bit attached to it... It's not the fanciest of machines, but with the correct grind and filter basket, it has held up good enough for someone who wants to make good espresso without chasing perfection. Hi! I have a Solis Barista Perfetta Plus that's having this same issue. There's no water coming out of the steam wand or the brew group and it's constantly lighting up the cleaning alarm. When I first tried running through the first cycle, it let out about 300ml of water and then stopped, but didn't turn it's alarm off. Then, it stopped giving water at all. I'm pretty certain it's some kind of internal problem, maybe a clog, but I'm not sure to fix it. Thanks! You're videos have been a lifesaver.

Hi. I tried to adjust the volume of a single cup without the coffee filter installed and now the machine is releasing water through the steam stick instead of releasing it through the shower. The function button is in the coffee position. I have already restored the factory settings and the problem persists. How can I solve this problem?

Possibility #3 would be that there is excess scale buildup.

the other way to prime pump is to open case, temporarily detach tube the draws from water tank and use a 20cc syringe of water injecting into tube while pump engaged.

I had to do that on a Bambino Plus. Probably because there’s no way to manually open the steam wand valve.

Hi, I bought mine Delonghi EC9255m used, and I see leftovers that someone used and made coffee. So it definitely worked. However when I tried water doesn’t come through the main brewing group, only some drops through the steam wand. Buuut, all the water leaks underneath the machine. Unfortunately this machine doesn’t have this side trigger for steam, only button. So I can not even try to unblock air in the way shown in the video. Is there a way to do it in my case? I saw people taking long straws with water and try to blow, creating a pressure with water in that way….help…😢

Breville bambino: after a week of holiday the pump spins but no coffee comes out. It feels like there isn't enough pressure. I primed it but what eventually worked is coarser ground beans. It feels like the machine is weaker than it used to be and coffee is now weaker and less hot. I'm wondering: does the pump deteriorate over time? How long should we expect this thing to work correctly? Is it time to replace?

I have the kitchenaid espresso machine, the one that looks similar to this machine you have in the video. I have water coming out if the portafilter isn't there, but when I put coffee and secure the portafilter, that's when nothing comes out. It's like the pressure build up isn't enough and it does nothing. Does that mean the pump needs replacement?

I've been wondering if my ECP3420 had issues as my coffee has been pretty bad. I think that the temperature is fine, but I've been wondering about the pressure and flowrate. My machine pushes around 5 ml per second of water (no basket). For pressure, I don't have any way of measuring it, so I was wondering if there were any tells to watch out for when it comes to abnormal pressure due to a part breaking. Do you think that the water flow is adequate for the machine model and/or do you have any tips in diagnosing whether a machine has a defect with no obvious tells?

Hey Tom. My Delonghi Dedica travelled with me on a flight, when I tried to use it, it warms up normally but when I push the buttons to make coffee as usual, it doesn't pump. It doesn't even makes a noise. I lay my hand on top of it, and I can sense a slight vibration for the duration of the pour. It seems like if the pump was stuck or something. Before getting my hands on it, I was wondering if you have any advise on where to look. Thanks, I love your content!

My Gaggia Classic Pro stopped pumping thru the brew group. Turned out it was some particles of boiler scale that got stuck in the solenoid valve after I descaled.

@@modandtheganggaming3617 I descaled and ran quite a bit thru the steam wand then thru the brewhead. Then I put some descaling solution into a blind PF and turned the BREW button on for a few seconds, then off to backflush.. Then I turned the machine off, came back in about two hours (I had to run errands). Then I flushed it out good, backflushed ran plenty of clean water thru it. Worked really well. Search YT: "Unblocking a Solenoid Valve on Gaggia Espresso Machines - Gaggia Caffe TV" I did not see that in Tom's lineup .

Hi Tom. Your videos were VERY helpful in us deciding which fully auto machine to buy. We went with the Delonghi Magnifica Plus. It arrived yesterday and I went through the set up today. Problem: It delivers water fine, including rinsing, as well as using pre-ground coffee. But when I tried making an espresso, it just dripped dripped until it was done. I had the grind setting on 1 for fine. I tried a few more espresso drinks (no milk yet) and it has now stopped making espresso. The machine said to reducing the grind setting and make 3-4 more drinks. I did that but it is still not delivering any espresso now. Can you help me please? Thank you.

I adjusted the grind to 7, pulled 2 espressos, it flowed correctly so I set the grind to 5, pulled 2 more espressos and they flowed fine as well. I think we've unchoked it. Thanks again Tom.

Hi Tom First of all, I want to thank you for the valuable information you provide on your channel. Thanks to your guidance, I recently purchased the De'Longhi ECP 33.21 espresso machine. However, I noticed something odd when making my second cup of coffee. The remaining water in the reservoir is heated, but the heat doesn't seem to be coming from the top where the thermoblock is located. Instead, it appears to come from the lower part of the reservoir, where it’s in contact with the tubes leading to the thermoblock. My question is: Could some of the water be returning from the boiler to the reservoir, causing this heat? Thank you for your help!

This solution will not work with dual pump machines :p but in my cases, just filling the water tank was enough.

I have cheap Delonghi,and started leaking they don't help you. Their customer service is really really bad Tom,I think I will buy Ninja luxe or breville or Gaggia classic.

Yes, I've heard they have bad customer service. I think it's hard for such big companies to have good over the phone service, unfortunately, but I have heard that Ninja is responsive from a couple people in the comments.
