This video is a great reminder as to why you hunt with "common" calibers, like the .375 H&H. Oddball calibers are fun, but if your ammo doesn't show up there is little chance you can purchase usable ammo unless it's a very commonly used caliber/cartridge. These are fun videos. Thank you for making them. Ignore the haters - pretty much all of them have no idea how the natural world works. The vast majority of them live in overpopulated cities with no true wildlife left after their agriculture and urbanization has killed all the natural wildlife off. Their opinions have as much validity as a desert dweller trying to tell an Eskimo how to build an igloo :).
@AfricanSunProductions
@AfricanSunProductions 4 ай бұрын
Yes sir, I also like the "tries and tested" calibers. They are widely available and effective. I don't mind the haters, they add a lot of activity to the channel which is good for the growth as a whole. It's also fun to mess with them a bit, haha. Thank you for watching, and thanks for the support!

Two off topic questions; I see no Rovers or Dodges thinking mine is tough, grin; secondly I see no one carrying radios, I would be uncomfortable without mine. I see a few online but they tell me I am not welcome to bring my radio or cellphone to Africa.
@AfricanSunProductions
@AfricanSunProductions 2 ай бұрын
The Dodges one is easy: Special import = very expensive and parts are hard to source, as is someone that can actually work on them. Rovers: There are a few around but they are much less reliable and have a lot less space than the Land Cruiser. You find Cruisers all over Africa so it's easier to source parts when needed. And yes, they are TOUGH! Some areas we'll have radios. The areas are so big, though, that you need a repeater for them to work. You can bring hand radios to certain countries, but in most African countries you'll need to apply for a license and you'll have to operate them on a certain frequency. Cell phones are no problem at all, except that there are limited reception in most areas. Camps will have wifi.

If controlled trophy hunting were to cease, then yes. Hunting, if well managed, contributes far, far more to conservation than, say, Chris Packham or a keyboard warrior! ;-)

Yes they are quite stunning when they’re alive. But it’s very difficult to make them sit on the wall for 50 years. If they’re still alive.

What do you mean outnumbered? Your comment doesn't make sense. I also don't understand why you would call it a shame. Controlled hunting is the backbone of conservation here in Africa.

I understand now, but it still doesn't make sense. These hunts are the only funding they get to protect vast areas of land. Without this funding all the land and habitat will be taken over by villages and cattle. Protecting the land give animals a place to live and breed, increasing their numbers. A selected few are hunted to protect the species as a whole.

@@aliraad9056 It helps the conservation efforts. It may not be ideal, but it's the only way to fund vital but expensive conservation projects in remoter regions of Africa, where photo-tourism is not feasible, ecologically, economically and/or logistically. ;-)

Seems to me if this is a family friendly Camp and you want the entire family to enjoy the marketing videos you'd at least edit out the profanity. My daughter was only 11 when she went on her first Safari but I didn't want her to watch this video. From a marketing stand point you should realize that people from all walks of life and of all ages from around the world might be watching your videos.

There is a reason why its parental guidance... Greg cannot hide his stuff because he captures a real hunt experiance. My guess would be... if the kitchen is to hot get out of it. Great work Greg. 11 year olds should not be hunting Leopards or Lions little to know hold a gun....

I agree with you, but you need to comment on the other video, the one where people kill just for fun. All the videos I film are part of sustainable development programs designed to increase wildlife growth and protect their habitat, so this man is a bigger conservationist than any keyboard warrior.

@AfricanSunProductions Жыл бұрын
@trevormthembu7913 The plan is the hunt a selected few animals each your to raise the funds needed to run this place, to give thousands of animals a place to live and breed. The alternative is to let villages take it over and bring their cattle.

It still doesn’t take away the fact that your killing a stunning animal. I’m sure you could move it to a better location where it wouldn’t interfere with your plans The vision of the guys dancing and singing and partying all because of a killing is so sad
@AfricanSunProductions
@AfricanSunProductions Жыл бұрын
The idea of moving an animal isn't sustainable. We do move a few in certain situations. It's very expensive. That one animal might be better off (Sometimes they don't adapt and they die) but the cost of moving one animal could be used to make multiple waterholes where thousands of animals can drink. It could also be used to employ an anti-poaching team to protect the area. The people singing and being happy isn't sad. They know that the sacrifice of the one ensures the survival of many.

Good day Oasis, thank you for your comment. Can you explain why you would think so? I see that you've been to Kenya, to the beach. Did you spend any time inland also or at least research the situation with Kenya wildlife at all before making this comment?

Did you see those rhinos being released? Well if it wasn't for men like Greg coming to Africa and spending his hard earned dollars on hunting species that are not endangered we would never have the funds to protect the animals that need it most. Please do some research before making a comment based on emotion and not on facts.
