UPDATE 1. As of right now version 1.0.2 this is still working 2. To hide the console, add "--melonloader.hideconsole" to Steam>DMate>Properties>LaunchOptions 3. If you are using a laptop you may need to press Fn+F4 to change the model 4. Your antivirus may detect the loader.zip as a virus, most likely a false positive 5. Get more vrm from hub.vroid Some vrm may not work and be detected as corrupted

To my knowledge only VRM 1.0 models work. Tho you can convert VRM 0.0 to 1.0 models if you want

@@sharksarecool6717 yes you need to download them. A lot of the cooler models are not downloadable which is a shame. You can filter models based on 'availability' in the top right corner and that will help. Tho you still have to go and look if the model is VRM 1.0 or 0.0 (most of them are sadly 0.0) I hope the dev will make an official model loading on steam workshop for the game to make it easier and better. Else the game is pretty barebones and there are really like 4 animations so not so good

for anyone having issues with f4, read no.3 if you still cant, MAKE SURE the CustomAvatarLoader.zip extracted successfully in Desktop Mate folder ( 1:25 ) i was having this f4 issues, and found that somehow my extraction wasnt successful. ( no file(s) inside mods & userlibs folder ). maybe bcs im extracting it right in the folder.

if you are having issue in the f4 process here is the solution ------> just use fn + f4 while clicking on the default character which pop out after launching desktop mate. It will definitely fix the fn + f4 for every system just make sure you are clicking both (that default character and fn+f4) at the same time.

in Steam, navigate to the game you downloaded. On the right there's a gear icon. Clicking that will show a menu, on the bottom there is PROPERTIES.. On the new tab that is going to be open, there will be a black rectangle.. right there, puth the command in the pinned comment

check to see if the model is a .VRM 1.0 and not a .VRM 0.0 or 0.1 if it is an older model (0.0 or 0.1 ect) you have to convert it to a 1.0

Something was blocked by windows defender during the install of the mod. Maybe that's why I can't load the vrm. Has anyone solved the same situation?(Error says "this vrm file seems to be either incompativle" even the file is vrm0.0)

I solved it. So what you need to do is disable windows firewall, uninstall 360 security, reinstall the melon downloader,go to your browser and see if windows desktop runtime 6.0.36 has been installed properly by clicking on it,go to your folders and re copy paste the 2 files into your desktop mate folder by replacing them (do not add,replace) and then launch the app from steam again

​@@utoexec VRM models are created with the UniVRM package for Unity, though other programs can export to the format, as well. VRoid Studio would be one example. It was originally developed by "VRM Consortium" for VR avatar creation, but it has other uses like Vtubing junk and, of course, this desktop thingie. From what I can tell, it looks like VRoid Hub is probably your best bet for finding models, though I haven't used or tested any of this so I'm definitely no expert.
