@taebby782 жыл бұрын
I feel like I'm average-smart but anytime I open my mouth, I'm told I'm wrong. Sometimes I have trouble comprehending things like a news story or passage in a text book, but other times, I can 'read' people and predict something about them that no one else can see (e.g. I can spot a liar in a second). I have a very keen intuition about people yet I'm not very book smart no matter how hard I try. But because so many people have always corrected me and told me I'm wrong, I find myself being extremely worried and double-checking myself. Like, people nit-pick at me. If a news story says 3 people were hurt in a car accident, I could say "I'm really sad that all those people were hurt", and someone will always find a way to correct me. They would say "Well it's not 'all those people' because there were only 3, so that's not really a lot of people." Things like that. I no longer trust my brain to say the right thing; I anticipate I'll be wrong no matter what because I've been conditioned by others that I'm literally never correct. Many people have treated me like this, from my own family, relationships, and even strangers in a passing conversation. It's very difficult and I go from feeling average-smart to the most stupid person on Earth.

Smh then once what you say clearly shown that what you’ve been saying was right all along , then the put down/pettiness whatever you want to call it they’ve kept doing doesn’t be address or just said to where they own up and apologize for not really taking what you’ve been saying the whole time in mind. Trust me, it’s a battle and everyday … like I even say I don’t know everything but something’s I do know because of experiences or just what was informed to me. I think a better way to describe 3 would be to say “Smart people are logical.” To think outside the box, you need to abandon objectivity, be open minded, and explore multiple tracks of information. You have to be comfortable with not knowing and simply ask questions. There’s a concept called divergent thinking that talks a lot about this. Only then can you allow your mind to expand. If you allow yourself to think in a linear, objective manner, you’re not going to push yourself outside the box. However, in thinking subjectively and exploring ideas, you still need to be logical. When you finally reach a conclusion to the question you’re exploring (gather enough divergent information to come up with something), then objectivity should take place.

My result 1. Yes when i see new people most don’t really impress me but sometimes i see people and have a feeling, and if i talk to them for a little bit, i realize that they have great grades, a good job or get called smart a lot. 2. Idk about that but this might count When i have a project to do or a job to do, i usually research a LOT, find stuff that nobody else did, make a special design for the papers and i end up making a really different thing from others but in the same topic. When i hear something that i didn’t before, i write it on my notebook and when i go home i do some research about it. 3. Opinions change for every person. Before believing something is great or terrible, i usually take a look at what it is. How it’s made, is it useful, does it look good, is it good quality. 4. I’m usually smarter at research stuff, art, making different drinks and combining different tastes, writing, planning and understanding the risks and the rewards of something. But i feel really stupid when i get affected by emotions. I’m not smart at calculating stuff, or doing complicated stuff like making a robot. Extra: 4-5 years ago, i had an IQ test and my mom told me that it was high, idk if she’s lying though. Extra: I get scholarships from many schools and get accepted to many classes like an art class for free.

It pays to be lied to, though! Studies have shown that (referenced in 'Outliers' by M. Gladwell) that people who were told they were smart or better, often worked up to that level, while those who were told they were not didnt bother to try, because they were aware of a limitation, so it often became a self-fulfilling prophecy, regardless of the objective truth of it.
@inconnu49612 жыл бұрын
Let me address your first point. There are said to be about 8 -9 areas of intelligence. Lets assume everyone would be considered intelligent . if you can discover what area a person is in fact intelligent in, as we were instructed to do for ourselves, then tell this person they are above average in this area, you can potentially create a self-fulfilling prophecy for them. once they can believe it, they will work to 'prove' you are right. The issue is: it takes time. it takes time for people to believe you, then it takes time for them to build momentum to the point where they DO manifest it. Try it! it is amazing to discover and makes you very POPULAR with others!

@averayugen78023 ай бұрын
You cant change your basic abilities. But you can help change society to a place where we don't make life-professions from always humiliating the already-down. To begin with, WAGES can be better than scraping by for ANY person, and hiring can be upgraded to EVERYONE has a right to a good paying job regardless of his IQ. Its BARBARIC to systematically punish people for not being as intelligent as someone else but this is what we do. The abuse is BAKED into the economic system. There are maybe 128 layers of work-complexity and every job seems to BRAND their workers with this uber-private number, like its BURNT into their foreheads. No wonder we don't love our jobs. And nowadays it seems to be more about what society thinks we ARE (right or wrongly) rather than what we can actually DO. Ever notice most people don't think "society" is running the way it should, never mind our political system? Feels more like an IDENTITY-call more than anything else. People acting like doctors are ruining peoples lives because an MA with certain science courses can act like they are your doctor, and if you are poor that's exactly whats happening to you too. If they don't understand you, its YOUR fault, they only did "their job". But its a Medical Assistant doing you so what can we expect? And they are bringing in $75.00 a HOUR. Yup. They had a "high IQ" so you lose. Think about this and write about it. Use the nine brillion other examples about how credentialism has replaced quality in living and surviving this horrendous American life. That's ONE program you'll never hear coming out of the bloody milquetoast (that word is on the IQ test btw) NPR while you wait in your "medical complex" office for nobody who will care about you. WRITE ABOUT THIS. GET MAD. THEN MAKE A REAL DIFFERENCE.

Did your average-ness un-do you and make you incapable of driving? Or did your driving disability cause your "average-ness?" What happened in your human service classes? How do you support yourself when its completely up to you? Do you ever get mad at a system that makes certain people feel as if they are really a better quality human being than others, simply because of something they were BORN with? Do you get hurt when you are always supposed to feel like you are a lesser quality human being after seeing how real life works for people? Do exceptionally intelligent people CARE about this sad world we are forced to always justify with our life-sacrifices??? Do those people feel as if they are "sacrificing" anything, or just being themselves? I ask because nobody ever wants to talk about these things. And the reasons are so obvious, its no wonder. So I need to bring it all up. Does "religion" ever REALLY help? I say hell no. Society needs more humanity built in. Wages (and ease of getting hired for anything) always reflect IQ and that's BARBARIC. Ok u get the point. Please answer this.

Remember when the covid think broke out I went and watched a ton of videos on virology,listen to immunologists,history of previous virus pandemics even conspiracy theorists etc anything that broadened my knowledge it gave me a different outlook to the whole affair instead of just listening to "the experts" ie governments who just have their own agendas. Never outsource your thinking to other people.

A slick, weak presentation. There is at least one misspelling in the graphics (e.g.: becuase) 1. Smart people always make allowances for other's procedural, logical or temperamental errors to glean data from others: they don't "keep score" about "smartness." 2. Smart people are relatively faster in recognizing the "truth" and applicability of information, whether thinking "inside" or "outside" of the "box". The mark of smartness is the conjoined exercise of knowledge, rhetorical ability, systems (input/operation/output/test/implementation) integration and intuition (the ability to see patterns beyond the obvious) to promote restatement of problems in productive ways. 3. For smart people, "objectivity" is not really the point. The issue or problem they consider may be entirely subjective. What is relevant is that they seek, recreate and trust data and do not readily assume a conclusion if even one data point or source seems to disagree with the assumptions, statements or desired results of the challenge under study. Everyone loves data. Smart people don't just accumulate data: they are critical of the methods by which data is collected, maintained and used. 4. Smart people are more cognizant of what they don't know, and less willing to pontificate on subjects for which they have not studied the processes/data. Only a smart person knows when they are being stupid or mistaken. Smartness as a feature is actually a combination of quick thinking, wide experience/knowledge, and the emotional ability to entertain contradictory ideas without trusting any of them uncritically. 5. Smart people are rarely conversationally at ease with other people, regardless of how smart they are. Normally they listen hard before they speak much, and are loathe to engage in conversation if the correspondents/participants seem unwilling, unable or are not being permitted to entertain alternative ideas.

I have conflicts with my new boss and maybe one coworker as well. I prefer being objective but my boss is subjective. He admits he is subjective. I try to improve my relationship with my boss. Got some advices from a very wiseman in the same company. He told me the way I talk makes other feel I think I am the smartest person in the room and I am telling they are wrong with something. So I found this video. I think I fit in these four criteria. The problem is people will not like me just because I am smart. Some people are annoyed by that.
@inconnu49612 жыл бұрын
Another sign of being intelligent is the ability to make other people feel intelligent! That wise man gave you excellent advice! Hold tightly to it! Assume the other person is reasonably smart (even if they do a poor job of presenting it) 2. Let that other person know they are intelligent (tell them, but also, tell others when this person is around) 3. Ask very good questions, but try to present it as though you struggle to understand & you need clarification. As a smart person asking good questions that challenges, gently, the validity of what is being stated is a very important skill (how do we know? why is it like this? etc) You want the other person to work through the problem, ie 'show their work' how they solved the problem, who they reference as an authority, without sounding like you are directly challenging them. So feigning slight stupidity helps this along.

I don't mean to be that guy but as for the first one, the statistics clearly show that height has a lot to due with IQ and it has to deal with genetics and breeding. If you go to college, for example, and look at people in the highest paying careers, you'll hardly find any short people there. This doesn't mean you need to be bigfoot, but most of those people are not shorter than average. Edit: my bad, I was commenting on the height = intelligence thing at the beginning. It sucks, but it's the truth. For example, how many below average height intelligent people do you see compared to taller ones? I've seen smarter short people, don't get me wrong, but it's in the genetics and how humans have bred vs. anything else.
@MeadeSkeltonMusic2 жыл бұрын
Not really. Just look at basketball players or NFL.. they are usually tall, but are they necessarily all that bright ?
@Delimon0072 жыл бұрын
@@MeadeSkeltonMusic Why do I even have to remotely explain that not all tall people are intelligent? That should already be inferred.
@inconnu49612 жыл бұрын
@@Delimon007 Because challenging something, and working forward to proving it is how we gain knowledge. Accept the challenge of proving your theory; this will make you smarter, as you will anticipate this challenge , work through the process before hand and add this work to your statement/reply, making it more challenging for the next person to challenge.

bruh he talk about that at the start but i pause before that... i dont delete took like 10 min to right down...i feel like we can all be smart if we have the right mindset we start at the average same position like imagine we start at average 2 and depend on mindset and choice we upgrade become 3 ,4 ect and maybe 8 and that sad because i feel like people that are 8 can understand people below there number and kinda analyse the intellect of a 4 (exemple) because they have been that number one they, they pass thru it to become a 8, but a 4 can not understand an analyse a 8.. he stuck at 4,he can not see more then what he is. do im the only one who think that or im crazy.. not englishman enjoy the eye bleeding lecture

Well to be honest even if you are the smartest person in the world if your EQ is low that IQ I useless . Hardwork is everything to be successful in any field of interest whenever academics or life . A person who has a low IQ but have high EQ is better than a person who have a high IQ but low EQ.
@kevink68522 жыл бұрын
Ok, if this “eq” bullshit was real. How do you measure it? How do you prove it’s useful? What does it consist of? What does it measure? As Jordan Peterson said, the idea was popularised by a shitty desperate journalist that believed ideas that he thought of in the shower = over a 100 years of years of research dumped into iq. Iq is actually a studied and proven concept of success if you looked at statistics. When comes to hard work and all that old timey bullshit, hard work is something that can only get you so far with out abilities to learn and adapt at a reasonable pace. You can have all the motivation you want in the world, be so interested in something you spend your whole day at it, but if you don’t have the tools to progress further into it and start being creative you will loss interest faster then light because you simply don’t have the ability for higher level of progress.

@@kevink6852 Everything you said proves IQ > EQ EQ can get you killed more than IQ plus you can have an EQ having IQ & not have an IQ having EQ (Speacial ed class is proof of it)

@@03beathitting like I said, EQ is not a real thing in psychology, but I get what your saying and your totally correct, emotions just aren’t as useful for success as logic and problem solving as most complex jobs need you to have those Things in your arsenal to achieve tasks properly. Anyone of thinks emotions are better for success then iq is just in denial because the idea that someone else is smarter then them hurts there feelings. Like you mentioned, when has someone from a special needs class ever became a doctor or an engineer? When has someone with an iq of 85> ever became more then a deadbeat fast food worker? It’s not there fault and it’s sad.

Steve jobs watched alot of star wars and borrowed the Idea from Generoddenbarry. Plenty of episodes in the 90s showing them walking around with a PDA like device with multiple functions capable of communication data lookup data link up and transfer. Even remote control or remote access using their pda tablets. Write reports play games read books make reminders etc. His eureka moment was identifying the exact moment apple was capable of reproduction of that particular star trek tech. Adding a camera and video recorder was definitely his own addition to the idea.
