Thanks for this video. I had forgotten about AAAD and have a Niro EV, so when I saw you had a Soul EV I figured it was about time that I did this. The only "issue" I encountered was my AA version was 6.5 so all I had to do was download the APK for 6.6 and it works perfectly. Thanks again 😎

if anyone sees this, whatever you do, don't pay for premium aaad. Had my card cloned through it and had £300+ PlayStation network payments taken in relation to the aaad card payment

Did you report this to Github? The software is open source so I am sure someone would have spotted any malicious code. You can't pay for it through Google? I am guessing there are two ways to pay? What you are saying would mean someone involved with this app or at the very least connected to it or doing business with it is doing something shady. Is this what you think? You're positive the source of the charges was through this? I don't doubt what you are saying. Thanks for the heads up. Would you say the app maybe isn't safe then?

Good video, however assuming that an open source application is inherently safer is a mistake. It has the potential to be, because you can audit the source (manually and/or by using tools) and then build your own binary from source or use a trusted distribution that signs their packages. This can make it less likely that nothing sneaks into the package, but open source alone is not a panacea. I've got too many concerns about installing an application not reviewed in Play Store or other app stores that can put apps onto my infotainment system. hmmm

Got it and it works. I'm just a little disappointed I thought I could open all my apps on my phone up on my screen in the car and use them, but that does not seem to be the case ... I am missing a way so I can get all the apps I have that I can use in Android Auto not just mirror .. do not think this can be anything wildly special other than watching youtube and what you have lying around on the phone ... But thanks for sharing

The app was properly shown to me on android auto with an older version however recently when I connected my phone to the car its ask me to update the android auto app, after upgrading to the latest version now fermata auto and other apps are not shown on the screen of car infotainment. tried to downgrade the android auto version but when tried to connect it to the car after downgrading, it again asked to update the latest version and it was not allowed to do anything further before I update it. Please tell me some solution for the same

This works! But there is an issue!! Rolling back an earlier version of android can cause your phone to be COMPROMISED security wise. So do becareful if your not real good at tech stuff PEOPLE who know things can detect and intrude without your knowledge on your phone!

The ship has sailed on this. These features and more (games and karaoke) were officially released in 2019 with V10 of the Tesla software. That means that at least 500K vehicles on the road have this functionality. For better or worse, it's still up to individuals to make good choices and use tech like this responsibly.
