Does this work on cameras that never had a firmware update available? I have a Powershot A2500 and when I go through the menu there is no "Firm Update" selection available. Could anybody help me with this?

@@alensebastian4677 I think one of the files was not in the root directory of the SD card folder. I just moved some things around and it worked

hey i need your opinion. I have a Canon POwershot SX30 is, and i would like to prove the CHDK firmware. could damage the camera or cause any defect? Someone might try it on this camera? What do you recommend?

It's really amazing, I took pictures from a big kite ( flights pictures), I have made a time lapse, and some big panoramic photo greated than 200 MP. All with "intervalometer" sripts.

I have the Canon s3 IS, and is now running like ome mean machine thanks to the guys at CHDK! It's like having a whole new camera, for free! Most point and shoots don't have the ability to use a remote shutter. My s3 IS was one of those. But thanks to CHDK, my s3is now has one! I have my Canon now hooked up to my Arduino Mega Microcontroller, and the abilities are ENDLESS!!! Very cool stuff! Iwas looking to buy another camera. Not anymore!! Confirmed working on a Canon s3 IS.

Yes, but it's just a beta version. Don't worry; it won't break your camera or anything; it just might have a few bugs. I've had that camera too, and I didn't really have any problems with it.

Yes, just turn off your camera. You could set it to automatically run from your SD card, but even then you can just remove the files from the SD card and it's gone.

power shot sd750. 1.0.2.0 is the firmware that comes up on the screen. any new updates on this?

@MrCrgl Yes, x3 bitrate, optical zoom(for some camera it is disabled when shooting in movie mode), and many more.

@umairamin1 yes, it does not install on your camera at all. it just runs out of the memory card.

it's so bad ass! THANKS! This was one of the videos I watched to learn how to get CHDK running on my Power shot A590. Hey kids, put the program folder on your memory card! But then remember how to enable it. It's like a cheat code everytime. You have to boot in playback mode > update firm > flip to shooting mode > and run your scripts!!
