@@GetDriving stopping at the give way line on hills I tend to slow down a little sooner as the hill obviously slows the car down quicker than on a flat with the brake. That's my main concern as there are lots of hills where my test centre is and my instructor takes me on them like he just did on my lesson I just had now but he said I need to leave the brake a little later than normal but tap it before hand to let others know I'm slowing down along with my signal obviously but i feel this is the only thing holding me back.

I want to start and learn driving. To be honest, i think i will be okay in picking up the technical jargon and your video was amazing at explaining this, but i feel a bit scared because how on earth would you be able to manage looking at a phone screen and the road at the same time, as well as watching your speed and the stop signs. I’m feeling nauseous even thinking about it. However, your video was absolutely amazing and you’ve got a great personality. Keep up the good work!!

Believe it or not, sometimes satnavs distract me as they give often inaccurate speed readings and information in terms of where to turn. On a driving test (as well as in real life), how can you avoid making an incorrect turn? One way (and it doesn’t entirely work) is to keep the map updated on the satnav, but it doesn’t always help. Any advice here?
@GetDriving4 жыл бұрын
Satnav can definitely be misleading sometimes. The only real suggestion is to try to anticipate which road you are going to be directed to turn down as early as possible. For example, making note of the roads or intersections you are currently passing on the Satnav vs your real time status may give you some indication as to when your next turn will appear.
@oscarshen6855 Жыл бұрын
One thing to note is that in a driving test Sat Nav, the turn usually appears further away than it actually is. It will look like it's still 100m away when it's right infront of you, it's easy to miss a turn if you got caught by suprise.

Unfortunate thing about it being part of the test, is that you won't know the sat nav is giving you misleading info because you don't know what your destination is. Such a flawed but fantastic bit of technology, has no place on a driving test.
@zoearmstrong6123 жыл бұрын
If the map gives the wrong directions the test examiner will give you the correct directions
@Grahamvfr3 жыл бұрын
@@zoearmstrong612 yes they do, my point was though, nobody in real life (which is what the sat nav introduction was for) follows a preprogrammed route, set by someone else, without knowledge of their destination. This turns the use of sat nav into an 'absolute' rather than an aid.

If SAT NAT driving told : "turn left, then bare right" So, after you turn left, what does it mean : bare right? what position?

Bare right means follow the road that curves slightly to the right. So do the left turn as usual, and then if you see a curved road on your right, go to that one.

Useful video. Just a humble suggestion from an "audience" perspective. Talking too much with lots of gestures (hands off while driving?) makes this video tiring to watch. Such a shame that there is important info there and you miss half of it watching the gestures. What is this lady doing part? 😂 She's just parking. Just be patient and calm. 👍
