As long as you make a good shot a blood trail isn’t that important as long as you don’t bump it. Bc I had a big 6x6 bull not have single drop of blood drop and it was a double lung

Killed many elk with a mechanical, it's a matter of opinion. That Bull was still walking when he shot , just like all his other bull kills, multiple shots have to be taken because he takes the unethical shot ,more times than not .

I live 30 minutes from Unit one. 2 blown rotator cuffs and I can't pull a bow any longer. My absolute favorite hunt, archery elk in sept. Reminds me how much I enjoyed it. Got a b & c elk, muley and coues hanging in Show Low. Keep doin it!

I’m not a bow hunter. I’m a rifle hunter. I enjoy the hunt a bow hunter gets to get his game but I don’t like the way a bow kills. For two reasons one he can survive a while after getting arrowed and second he walks down hill afterwards and that means hauling his meat back up the hill. Lol. Good video nice hunt.

I've watched a lot of elk hunting videos but I don't recall anyone walking at an 'elk pace' as a strategy when closing distance. Maybe because you were so close you knew he could probably hear you walking? That call in was awesome! Absolute bare minimum calling. Well made video.

This was my first year elk hunting in Southern oregon me and my friend were on a nice 6x6 then it went onto private land we went back the next morning and someone illegally took it that night, I will be back at it again next year hopefully ill get mine then
