I was there 2 weeks ago. Looks like I was there same time you were. I did stop into a local ranch and they had some Axis deer meat. I took it back to the timeshare and BBQ’d it up. It was wonderful. I need to look into getting to get a guided hunt out there.

I would absolutely love and prefer to shoot an axis deer with a bow, but i'm not good at spot & stalk style hunting, here in Michigan its blinds and tree stands, with a rifle it's much easier to spot & stalk as you can do it from a distance. But if i ever were to go on a axis deer hunt i would leave the rifle at home to force myself to use my bow. Congrats again on the big buck! Are you going to mount either one? or both?

When they have a screwed up antler on one side they most likely had a injury on the contralateral rear leg prior to the growth of the antler

Exceptional Island with an amazing population of Axis Deer! They're beautiful animals, hard to hunt with a bow & taste absolutely amazing. Some of the BEST TASTING MEAT you can harvest in the world nvm just in north America ( specifically Texas & Lanai)

I stopped watching this channel because of Eric. Takes shots that are beyond his skill, wounds the animal, animal suffers, and then doesn't show hardly (if any) remorse. I know this will happen to everyone within their lives while hunting but when it's the same scenario almost every video, it gives ethical hunters a bad rep.

Couldn’t agree more it’s absolutely ridiculous that people think this is ok… I would love to see him actually try to get in close and take an ethical shot instead of just winging arrows hoping one lands. I mean even just pass up the shot. Its not worth the outcome but time and time again Eric just let’s arrows fly when he knows it’s not within his skill set
