X-5/Brad wasn't part of the plan to prune the timelines. His job was to find Sylvie (explained in episode 1), which he did but then decided hey, I could be living a fantastic life, why am I following orders when I could be living my movie star life. I think they do explain everything but sometimes it's subtle.
@joelhenry5489 Жыл бұрын
The writing in this show is really outstanding. Most importantly, the way it drives home what it means to prune a timeline. It's the ultimate act of genocide. And that scene with Sylvie and Jack at the end, a simple little conversation after work really drives it home.
@EvilDuckLord Жыл бұрын
So two things: Sylvie is not happy with Loki because she finds out that he's working for the TVA, the organization that has messed up her life and put her on the run. Secondly, X-5 (Brad) was assigned by Dox to track and find Sylvie while her and the rest of the loyalists would handle the branched timelines.

I think the part where the show directly addresses audience complaints about Loki post Ragnarok "stop being a hero you're a good villain" might have been lost on you guys and that might be why the interrogation felt like it went on too long for you, but to me it read like the show stating "This IS Loki, he IS the god of mischief, he's just not straight up evil"

The team that is still in the TVA with B-15 knows about the fact that all those timelines have lives and they do follow her ideology; everyone does not stare at the monitor just feeling sad about all those pruned timelines, they feel sad almost personally because one of those timelines could be the one in which they lived happy lives. That is exactly what that scene tackles, both macro and micro nature of the multiverse. You can bring back someone from another timeline but it wont be the same, as in the experience you had with that person and the journey you had personally been on.

I think the significance of Oroboros' name is that it will be reveled that time in the TVA is circular. After He Who Remains is killed, Kang comes into existance and eventually destroys the TVA. Kang then rebuilds it, abducting all the variants who become it's workers. The next He Who Remains gains control of Alioth and takes over the TVA, rebranding it and erasing the memories of those there. OB is so tucked away that both Kang and He Who Remains don't notice him, so he experiences the cycle without being reset. It's a far out guess, but it's my guess.
@user-dx2dm8oq8g Жыл бұрын
I agree, it seems like the TVA is tweaked to be perfected every time and everyone's memory is wiped repeatedly. The drawings on the wall ex. with the Kang army might have been from a past event or a reminder/clue for the next Kang who takes charge. There are also constant visual references to circles in the tva: architecture, pies, etc.

OB did say they need to prune to relieve the pressure, but B-15 didn't want to kill people, which is why OB needed to find a way to improve the load capacity. General Dox's attack effectively genocided almost every branch. On the bright side it was what OB originally proposed, and it'll buy them more time, but this wasn't the way they wanted to go about it. And yes, during the court session in ep 1, the order was given by Judge Gamble to confirm B-15's decision and officially stop pruning timelines across the TVA. However, General Dox refused to comply, and she sought out like-minded loyalists to continue pruning.

Jaby's inability to comprehend how character development works irritated me. This episode spent times at the interrogation room to establish that Loki is still the God of Mischief who can and will do nasty shit to get things done his way. It was crystal clear to why they started the episode with him toying with Brad even when he can just take him in easily. I know a lot of viewers will say “Why is it such a big deal, we never met or even saw any of those universes”. But if you’ve seen either of the Spiderverse movies or even Everything, Everywhere, All At Once then you would know that their lives matter just as much as the characters in our universe. Think of it like if Miles Morales or Spider-Gwen were just erased. Or even Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Men were just erased!!! So yeah, this is a very heavy loss, even worse than the Blip. Also Tom Hiddleston in that tuxedo just makes me imagine another universe where Tom became the new James Bond. And god is it great to see Loki be who and what he truly is, not a hero, not a villain, but the freaking GOD OF MISCHIEF!!!!! Also Achara an Ouroboros is the symbol for the cycle of life, death and rebirth.

I strongly doubt the pruning can be undone. It doesn’t make sense to be able to go back in time to recreate entire timelines.
@hoechel Жыл бұрын
I think, you can only undo things that happens i the same timline. You can't fix things in another timeline, that happens in another. Which makes sense, because of 3 reasons: 1. it is gone, 2. it is a different timeline and 3. undoing things in the past, will create a different timeline. And BTW do not confuse timeines with the multiverse or dimensions. That's both a whole other concept.
@dybiosol Жыл бұрын
As OB said it, pruning means "ripping yourself from every thread of reality in space and time". It just means when you prune something it is converted back into raw time which we see on the left side of the Temporal Loom. This is, in turn, woven back into the sacred timeline. If something is changed into raw time, the concept of turning time back to get something back doesn't make sense anymore. If you destroy something into time, how would time save it?

I'm not sure if he was just inspired by Sylvie's peace of mind when he found her or something else, but he decided to abandon his post, find his life in 1977 and become Brad Wolf I don't think he Hunter X5 was ever sent to prune any timelines - but maybe I missed something.

This episode had a lot happening in it . Chasing down X-5, what Sylvie was up to and the messed up plan that General Dox executed on the DL. Every episode makes me want to watch the next one. That is what a great show is supposed to do when you watch it. I'm actually starting to wonder if B-15 might have had a life on the timeline in Wakanda. It would be interesting to have her run into her past self on the timeline in Wakanda and she was one of the royal guards back then. Also I hope they show what Mobius life was on the timeline. Jaby guessed what I was thinking about Morbius. Maybe he was a jet ski instructor or stunt performer and really loved it. I really want to see the Victor Timely episode and hope they get to it by episode 3 or 4. They should increase the show episodes to 8 instead of 6 so you can let the stories breathe more and have more opportunities for small action sequences in 5 episode and 3 episodes that are big action hitters. Enjoyed the reaction👍👍✌out.

Bringing the Avengers back in Endgame is so WILDLY different than what happened here. In Endgame they're bringing back the EXACT same characters we lost. It's not like the whole timeline died and we brought back other versions of characters. So to say that you could just pluck those people from other timelines, thus making their deaths unimportant, is truly WILD. Those people lived real lives in a real world. Just because they have other timeline counterparts, doesn't mean they're the same person. MoM variant Wanda was NOT the same woman as our Wanda. And Sylvie is more than allowed to be "frustrating". Her trauma didn't just disappear because she killed He Who Remains. She's also a Loki on her journey. Loki wasn't always trying to do the right thing. His journey has taken him a decade and in Loki years, more than 1000. So some patience would be nice, Jaby. 🙄

that's a fun new intro animation. are those supposed to be cartoon versions of acharra and gaby? 😄 anyway, i came here to comment that the "torture device" looked like the love child of one of those automatic tennis ball dispensers and an industrial vacuum.

I don't eat at Mc chuck bugger so it doesn't trigger me. Sylvie just wanted her stars, stay all day you get all 5 stars! Their emotion at "They were lives" really got me in the feels even though its not real it did make me sniffle.

I guarantee that the fries and nuggets tasted way better in 82’ than they do now. …

The ouroboros is actually originally from ancient Egypt, not Greece :)

As far as I can tell, the TVA exists outside the timelines but still has its own time. Once you prune a timeline, it’s gone. The only way to travel the TVA’s timeline is to time slip like Loki did last time, but he can’t anymore because they fixed that problem. I agree that the pruning of the timelines felt like nothing. It was too big and unexplained and it was done without any work. We don’t care about any of the people in those timelines. We just care about the characters in the sacred timeline but to be honest even had they pruned the sacred timeline, I wouldn’t have cared because they’re all in a room just watching lines disappear off a screen. I don’t think B-15 started a religion. She’s right, that’s what they were doing. They were destroying timelines full of people. That’s why Sylvie was so set on destroying the TVA. Everyone knew that’s what was happening, they just assumed it was necessary to prevent the destruction of everything/all timelines. To be fair, that might be the case, but it might not. I guess we’ll see.

That McDonald's employee is a young Mobius....

Especially since his (Mobius’) real name is ‘Don’ Working at ‘McDONalds.’ 😉

Love how badass Loki is in this season, but I expected Sylvie to at least apologise for betraying Loki when she saw him at McDonalds. Instead she still thinks she can defeat Kang? A bit disappointed cause it looks like her character hasn't grown at all. She's complaining about the TVA but not willing to help.

Before watchin the video, 2 things : 1. i wonder if we get more reaction videos to Janis Joplin in the next time. I really almost forgot how good she was. Haven't heared much of her in the last 40 jears. 2. I have no real problem with tha MC Ad, maybe because it was sooo obvious that its more like just a part of the pop culture, and since Disney needs to safe money .. i'm fine with the way they did that.

All those lives gone because of Sylvie’s selfishness and she ignores it and makes Loki fix her mess!😡
