There’s a scene in the departed where Jack Nicholson is talking to Leonardo DiCaprio at the bar about how he thinks there’s a rat and he drops a gun on the floor and then sticks it into DiCaprio‘s face. That part was mostly improvised too.

It seems The Batman seems to have taken many important aspects of previous Batman movies. Brooding and music choice like 1989 Batman, grounded realism of Batman begins and brutal & rage of batfleck. Matt Reeves combined all of these and still add few more aspects from comics to make The Batman. Sure The Batman sometimes feels very long, but it is at same time feels similar but also so different from previous versions.

FYI That actor that Jaby is talking about at the end of the video is Tracey Walter, he's a character actor with 179 acting credits on IMDB, including being in nine different films with Jack Nicholson. He's best known for playing sidekicks and henchmen like his character in Batman. (So yeah, it makes sense that someone told Jabay the guy has some cred in the industry!)

Batman did not just run away in the intro. He beat those muggers and left them for the police who were probably alerted by the gunshots they unloaded on him. You can hear the sirens at the end of the scene.

Also he showed up later too, not in time to save anyone. Which makes sense because he's not superman, it would 5aje time to see or hear the crime (the woman screamed) and then observe them and quietly approach. And if the police were coming, the people will get their stuff back. But one of the guys was injured pretty badly.

I love critics like this cause it keeps things honest. People are just complacent so you dont compare it to anything else. Granted things dont have to be perfect cause nothings perfect and I can take a bit of suspension of disbelief but you gotta realize that these movies aren't made with the artistry of film in mind. Its propaganda and money first. Going back to my point there's nothing wrong with having fantasy/action movies with logic in mind. It literally gives your brain more reasons to care about the the flashing colors and noises in front of your face. Nostalgia does not equal quality. Having that mentality takes away from the people who actually give a shit about their work. (Not necessarily talking about the actors, that's a whole other conversation)

Whatever said and done! This movie has got nothing to do for being politically correct or with today's culture. There's a reason why they call it classic. It was written by scholars who knew what they were doing and it holds up till today because of its strong mythological underpinnings. And it shudnt be compared with today's standards. The film made four hundred million above, if it's converted to today's adjusted dollars, it's over a billion, surpassing 2022 The Batman. Numbers won't lie.
