They do by people who know and matter. I was born in 1978, grew up 80's 90's, but I love oldies. Music from the 50's, 60's and 70's. Not everyone in my generation likes oldies though. My point is, is that artist don't need mass accolades to be appreciated or be giving their due respect.

People sleep on how essential the House Party movies were to the growth and commercialization of hip-hop. House Party made hip-hop widely accepted and digestible for corporate America to get involved with. Before House Party, rappers doing commercials was corny but Kid n Play made it cool.

I am still amazed that the four House Party movies were released officially on DVD format during the 2000s but have NEVER been digitally remastered and restored for 1080p Blu Ray disc format or even UHD 4K HDR Blu Ray disc format... not sure why or what's going on there because these movies are classics and all time fun favorite coming of age films and you'd think there was a market out there for at least getting these films on UHD 4K HDR Blu Ray disc format fully digitally remastered and for best sound quality especially being a classic hip hop movie. I also kinda wonder about how much money the movie did make because Play was right on at first hesitation on making the film because he knew the Run DMC movie and other movies (back then still in the 80s) had not made much money at the box office but also cause back then they would limit these films to "urban and minority" areas because unfortunately that is how it used to be back then. Basically you could travel from one town to another an see absolutely ZERO racial minorities and you knew you had to keep it moving before some future Trump MAGA flag waving fanatics would show up screaming slurs in their big white pick up trucks while acting like they were the only Americans which decades later hasn't changed much but you would travel and never see any signs of African American culture at all and maybe it was in the 90s when the urban and hip hop artist based films (some of the films were basically approved as long as a hip hop artist like Tupac, Kid n Play and others were in it under the assumption or strategy that they would fill theaters and sell tickets) and then by the 2000s it was almost being taken for granted that these films existed and in my opinion instead of the film directors producing more and more of these types of films there was instead either mediocre and garbage forgettable films made and with less artists and talent on top of that.
