Did you know elims are given for any point of damage, even if it's not the killing blow, as long as the target wasn't healed inbetween ? Test it yourself. Blizzard wants you to feel proud of your elims and keep playing, that's why they never explain what they actually are. Everyone has told you how important elims are, since you started playing. But do you actually have a good reason to look at elims ? It should be trivial to explain why they matter, for such a strong and obvious belief. But you won't be able to.
