i used a VS200 on a 10' rod for many years. my wife bought me a used VS150 to use on a 9'er. i had to sell the reel because it was a knuckle buster. i now have another 150 with the VSB reel stem & the extended handle arm. the 150 is a different reel with those two mods. i actually like it better than my 200!

Great explanation on what you are doing and using. We are out of there with the big red boat, so we won’t be spooking the fish anymore. Try 2 1/2 oz shorty. It worked very well for me. By the way, where did you get the chicken sandwich? Thanks David

I live in Michigan and fish all freshwater species outside of panfish. I travel to southern Florida for work several times a year and always rent AirBNBs on the intercostal. In February, the bluefish were in the canals and I was blown away by how quick I went through plastics. A missed hookset meant that I had to put on a new bait because it would get bitten in half. Very cool first experience fishing them- they fight like hell! Great video!
@gotshpilkes10 ай бұрын
You don't have to use expensive baits when they are hitting like that. If the blues can see it, they will try to eat it. I have bluefish bite marks in my kayak paddle from tooling around the harbor at night (please keep hands and feet inside the ride).

I bought a Van Staal VR175 and a 9 foot legend on sale for $450 about 4 years ago and it is basically the only rig I use now lol. I have a Stella and an OG built here in CT VS150 , among other reels but this is just the one that feels best to me. I also have Mojos and Lamiglass GSB's but the Legend is by far my fav. The only other rod that is a close second is the older Loomis Surf Series the black and silver ones from like 1999 lol. All the St Croix surf rods are great though.

I've caught MANY bluefish over 20 pounds in my lifetime here in CT, more than I can count. Pound for pound one of the most ferocious fish in the ocean. They fight like hell but are also straight up marine piranha, massive teeth. A "gator sized" blue could basically eat a large sized salmon in two bites lmao.

Would appreciate you might consider adding commentary to your videos when making lure changes. In this vid, you start with a bunkerSP, we see one cast, then a lure swap to a swimbait. We all know you cast that bunkerSP more than once, but the edit gives the impression of an early presentation change. I’d be interested in your thinking and reasonings behind those kinds of adjustments. Thanks for considering.

Use a Blurple Diawa SP Minnow at dusk. 6inch
@MichaelP0418 Жыл бұрын
Something to help clear up your explanations..... A - Your jig technique is known as the "swing". Where you throw it up current and work it down current. The lure swings right in front of you while presenting it. Only problem is that you need a viable amount of open area to work a light jig like that. Doing that around a heavily populated area will only result in tangles and pissed off anglers B - The "forbidden" lure is one of the most widely known lures in the fishing industry known as keitechs. You should invest some time reviewing the z-man products. They produce pro cure gel and hold up 10x better than most other plastics C - Not to mock your click bait title..... but a bluefish will hit anything. You could attach a hook to a spoon and they'll eat it lol You can thank me later when you save money for your channel promotion

I’m relatively new to surf fishing, only doing for about 2 years so far and I’m hooked. I imagine I’d be doing this as long as my body allows me to, it’s so much fun. I’ve learned a lot from your channel, especially with the gear you use. I’ve never really explored the back bays, can you suggest a cool spot for me to try?
@semajd5995 Жыл бұрын
People don’t willingly give up spots…you literally have to take a day and go out scouting. Or when you meet people at places just ask them…people will tell you in person but not online
@CytoplasmicGoo Жыл бұрын
