A few neat things about I’m Fine: 1. The first set of notes in the song’s melody is the notes in Save Me flipped (backwards). 2. The font BTS use to spell Save Me makes it so that if you turn it upside down it says I’m Fine. 3. In I’m Fine, the rappers rap in this order: rm, j-hope, suga… which is the backwards order from Save Me (suga, j-hope, rm)

Very few commenters seem to notice that this song is performed with desperation, not joyful release. It is, in my view, the flip side of "Save Me" in that it is also a cry for help. Some folks ask for help while others hide their need with "I'm fine, I can handle it" etc. This song is very much still in the process of overcoming, using the mental/emotional tool of positive self talk (speaking the truth in advance) as their weapon against the things that were keeping them in the dark night. This struggle can be exhausting, as is keeping the front that says "I'm okay" when you are not. That is why the song and the choreo feel sad at the end.

The whispered, "Suga," is so much a trademark of his performances that when he forgot to include it on a completed song he had co-created with Epik High ("Eternal Sunshine"), they *re-mastered* the song to add it in - even though Suga doesn't sing or rap on the track! Note: RM said in one his backstory Vlives that I'm Fine is "such a sad song." For me, it reminds me of a college peer counselor who told me "fine" was an acronym for: Fucked up Insecure Neurotic Emotional

I love how BTS have such empowering songs that really help people especially with such good music to go with it and I think that’s the thing that people love most about them too they have lived through hardships and struggles and so we can relate to them as people and through their music we can feel the connection 💜

This live version was a lot of close ups and super wide shots so it’s hard to appreciate the choreo. But it’s such a hype live. Save Me and I’m Fine are connected by the lyrics. Line by line it’s mirrored but in reverse kinda. Easier to understand if you visualize both songs lyrics side by side. But it’s genius song writing once you get it lol. **I sent you an IG DM with a link to see what I mean! “Suga” is in a lot of songs that is kinda his trademark. J-hope sometimes says “Hope World” which you hear him say in I’m Fine.

Suga whispers his name in almost every song right before he raps. Sometimes you hear Jhope yell HopeWorld in the backing track right before his verse. I'm Fine isn't a continuation of Save Me, it's more of a sequal that the Save Me flows into. Essentially, the Era of your life that you need saving is over and now you're fine. You can continue on now bc you've grown stronger. The messages are linked but the music for the end of Save Me and beginning of I'm Fine flow together to emphasize the message.

If you read the lyrics carefully, I see it as a case of when someone says they are fine/ok, but they are not actually fine. The “not fine” is expressed in how they dance in an energetic way quickly followed by tired way and then a member is picked up when they falter. At the end, they are emotionally exhausted from saying they are fine when they are in reality not. Its like the social response or lacking honesty when not wanting to burden others.

hm I kinda disagree with this interpretation. they are not lying to people when they say "I'm Fine" but it's hard because they are doing actual work on being happy and overcoming obstacles by themselves. it's in the Love Yourself Answer album and that's one of the songs that represent it the most. being fine by yourself is hard and it's a process and they stumble a few times in the choreo but their friends help them get up. it's also very realistic because no one's life will always be good and fine, it''s just not possible. it's literally in the lyrics I’ll say it to myself over and over, however many times Even if I fall again, I’m fine

I'm Fine is quite literally the opposite of Save Me. They put the melody of Save Me backwards, they mirrored/reversed the lyrics and if you read the songtext from bottom to top next to the Save Me lyrics, they literally flipped them upside down and made them fit and mirror the context of the lines in Save Me. They even reversed the order of who sings/raps.

Save me and I’m fine we’re some of the first songs I heard as baby army and it solidified how amazing they were to me. To make a song flip it forwards and backwards as far as the actual beat on the track and in the meaning of needing someone to come save you from your sorrow to being fine on your own. It was what MADE me army but these songs helped make me realize BTS were great musicians

Years ago there's a girl who had a tattoo where when it's upright it sees "i'm fine", but when it's upside down it sees "save me". It is sort of a call for help from a depressed person and it was quite popular for a long time, it became something of a slogan/logo for people who suffer from depression. I read from a website about a theory was that they somehow was inspired by this and so they made this two songs. The lyrics were also from a point where they wanted someone to save them (Save Me) and then found a way to tell themselves "i'm fine" which saved themselves from depressing moments. I could be wrong, but their music definitely helped me through hard times.

You need to watch the full Save Me, I'm fine performance where they do beginning of Save Me and the complete I'm fine. What you watched was part of a medley which is why you didn't hear any of the rappers in the Save Me live.

The "suga" is in so many songs normally the ones suga himself produces, sometimes he wispers it, sometimes he puts an effect but is yoongi's own voice saying it. Sometimes is RM who says suga, for example in move on and respect. Same with j-hope, he says "hope world" before his verses and sometimes yoongi or RM will say "Jay" or "J-hope" before jhope's verse. Its a rapeline thing.
