Yeah, the kids of the gamecube era are adults now. The only issue I have with switch generation is... Nintendo has literally confirmed switch 2 is backward compatible so a lot of people are gonna pick up "old switch games" for their switch 2 collection AND keep many sealed- so this generation the GC era is probably the last we are gonna see bonker prices in. I still think a sealed copy of x,y or z and a collectors edition for great games over the Switch is gonna be worth money in the far future- ofc, but I dont see these prices for an animal crossing again (sealed) I mean, Animal Crossing on Switch alone has sold, what, almost 50 million copies? Yeah, there is tons of sealed out there for sure!

GameCube games were compatible with the Wii. If anything it keeps the nostalgia longer since you can still play them, I don’t think k it affects collectors mindsets at all. It actually confirms that remakes from the switch probably aren’t happening until 2-3 generations later too

Seeing Japan versions go this high is wild. Are they going for nore than English versions cause that’s very different from the way gaming market has always trended

@@devinflaherty7419 but dude, gamecube the console alone sold what 25 mllion consoles? Animal Crossing on Switch, the game, has sold twice what the Gamecube ever sold. The numbers are just bonkers with the switch. AND retro prices were already spiking when the switch came out- people have a brain and a memory, people are gonna re-buy their fav games and keep them sealed this time. Wait and see. People forget that, atleast here in Sweden, you could pick up the biggest games on gamecube, for like 5-10 dollars under the wii era. You really think tears of the kingdom or for ex Pokemon Sword is ever gonna be 5 dollars sealed in any store within 5+ years?! Gamecube was treated like a dead console that flopped, and stores just wanted to get rid of their games and clear storage fast and jump into the success of the "wii".
