I worked with Ray in L-126. He was a great firefighter and a great man but I never met anyone who was a better father. Amazing man.

I fully tank my hat off to Ray for having the balls, backbone, spirit, and humility ro admit to another commander that you would be comfortable enough regsarding the operation on an apparatus, a piece of equipment, or an evolution ! That is totoally respectful!

Having Ray behind you on the 2 1/2 is a dream. It’s operating a garden hose with that bull behind you.

your talking football, my station is 1 block off of Penn State's main campus. I'm a - or was - a big guy. Not tall at 6" but big, 280. One day I meet one of our new firefighters. Rick Bolinsky, 'the Rick' was what he went by. 6'5" and 330... but 5-7% body fat. He played and started defensive nose tackle for Penn State. And then after that he became the assistant strength coach. h e got paid tp lift. We got a pic of him floating around the firehouse were he is standing holding in one his right hand, a 2 1/2 smoothbore open wide, and pointing with his left at the place he wants the truck crew to pull apart. NO BACKUP... just standing like a Sunday afternoon. . You ALMOST got him in FDNY. He took the test and got to the physical. Apparently he broke a couple of the testing rigs. I think he said he broke the like pole simulation setup. But he got a letter from some office guy at your HQ saying that he must be obese and that was that. Obese with a body fat of 5%. He got on a career department just outside of Baltimore and is in a ghetto section and running his happy ass off. He's happy. I think he is an engine company all by himself.
