Getting a North American Certificate for hazloc products!

Are you a manufacturer of electrical devices such as AC & DC electrical machines or generators, electrically operated valves, fans/blowers, heating devices or lighting devices, to name a few?
Is your equipment intended for use in “hazardous locations” in North America?
Here are the 5 main steps you should take to begin the hazardous location certification process:
Step 1 - Identify the general safety Standards (or known as Ordinary Location Standards) - the specific Standards for your type of electrical equipment
Step 2 - identify in which type of area you want your product installed (based on your chosen classification system). Note that there are two classification systems in North America: the Class-Division system and Zone system. You need to choose one or both of them,
Step 3 - Select the best protection technique(s) applicable to your product
Step 4 - Identify the hazardous location Standards that apply to your product and determine the hazardous location markings that apply to your product’s classification (division and/or zone)
Step 5 - Engage a recognized, accredited certification agency in North America; they are also called National Recognized Testing Laboratories (NRTL). CSA, UL and QPS are examples.
