Nice don't know that I need one but I want it now lol need a link to your main website in the description! Personally I think I'll be going with the blitz 360 complete and add the mini version to it latter on as I find use for it... as a relative noob to the precision sharing game it might be helpful to myself and portable many others if you described why we may want a convex edge over a flat grind... might even be a worth while video where you can point out what system on the market have such a capability... food for thought 😉 🥃cheers🍻

George, I have several Japanese paring knives that need to be sharpened at 9-10dps. Can the KO3 do this?
@georgeobrien60654 жыл бұрын
The answer is, yes, if you use the filet clamps and the blade is wide enough so they stick out two or more inches from the clamps. This video is about putting a convex edge on an outdoor knife. So, don't use the universal convex lens kit for Japanese knives.

I'm getting a edge pro apex 4 today, wondering on how to sharpen bark river aurora on it. I think this video will help. anyone have any advice on convex and scandi on edge pro?

What is the talk about a convex ‘lens’. The convex curve you produced on the blade, i get that... but why ‘lens’ I saw it come up too on the TSPROF video captions to English from Russian, but assumed it was just a weird translation hiccup from Russian to English... Now I hear you, an American English user actually saying it. I’ve got my K03 and Universal adapter on the way, so just filling myself with many K03 videos at the moment

Typo?

@@Mrplacedcookie , no I think it is jsut how the translation comes out ..a convex curve is lenticular...lens like so I can see they just ended up with this as a "translation"

@@npaisnel that's a good point. 👍

Lens is the Russian name for convex.. Hope that helps..

This won't be a convex anymore will it ? You're not getting the curve of the convex you're getting the V grind

The convex edge adapter ensures that a radiused curve is put on the edge. So, it IS a convex edge. You choose which of three different radii will be produced. All of them are convex edges.

I can't take you seriously unless you can convex freehand.

Robert, I learned how to sharpen by hand at age 8. I am 69 years old and say that I still can't make a "reproducible" convex edge. That means, every time I sharpen, it's a little different than the last time. Will the hand sharpened convex edge still do the job? Sure. You can also sharpen using the bottom side of a ceramic coffee cup. My wife's grandmother used a field rock that was in the front yard of her farm house. It's up to each person to choose their method.
