Don't queue so much at once. Or make sure you directly order them to do the important things first. One "task" per skill at a time. Maybe two per. Never give anyone an equal priority to incompatible tasks. Incompatible tasks are anything that will consume almost all of a survivors work time. Like research. Don't double someone up on research and construction for example. They'll just avoid doing one of them entirely. Harvesting and Planting count for just one. As does cutting, scavenging, and mining. So for four people, you should prioritize the things that aren't all-consuming of time, and make the big jobs secondary. That way they'll always get things done that really need to be done, and not neglect maintenance tasks. They also won't get stuck on one thing for days on end. It really goes much more quickly when they don't fall behind on anything.

There's a seed I found named LET-DRAMA that has a huge area of flat land that is all 100% loam soil and so far (3 play throughs) I've always gotten 2 extra survivors in the first year. The only downside is that the beef berries, fruit bushes, and chew roots are quite a hike to get to for observe, but Laara's extra speed gets it done no problem.

watched over 8 hours of vids. ur the first to show they lvl up in skill. more i watch more i like the game. the only issue i seen so far is power - controlling heaters- a/c units. and that may of been the user error they were unsure and ofc so am i. edit u appear to be most knowledgeable i seen so far lol. but i enjoy watching people play-learn too. game reminds me a lot of Frostpunk. but with defenses.

There are three types of grass I have found so far. Blade grass = 20 hay per, Giant grass = 30 hay per, and Tall grass is the grain one. Still working through your other play through. Cool that I can hit this one while you are still doing it. My biggest issue with the Hard playthrough I started was the frequency of the weather issues. I had daily thunder storms and several toxic events. Hard was not impossible to do, but, just less fun for me.

well hard mode isnt realy harder than other modes. only the start is. the attacking waves strength depend heavy on you gear and defense builds like auto turrets. my prio for the 3 plants to research ar Grain grass (grain), Whool, and glowshrooms, berrybushes are as well a very good choise since they give food and sticks and have also fruts in winter if not harvested. on the research i go basic constructions then smelting, and i try to find or produce gas so i can research flamethrowers which are the best defense building in the game

@@asraiel hard mode is worse on attacks. Proven I. The series when you get further in. Weather events are more frequent and worse it seems too

@@TheOnlyL0nzY oh wheater yep and expext a attack whenever a sunray disables your auto turrets. best is to have a semi closed wall around with 1-4 entrances that are 3 squares wide with flame throwers on both sides around 6-10 per entrance that keeps you well protected and if no special flyers are in its all fine. dont waste time on scrap metal traps they only count as your power and do enlarge the waves itself. so you tecnicly loose if you place them. Best is to build your base so that one side has a natural wall like lake or rocks that will never be attacked and enemys never will get thru. and once you get to the point of raido signals. if you build the 2 antennas inside your base you only will load preshure on your defence. my last game in extreme i managed to evacuate 5 peoples but the attack waves and interval was like 1 attack every 2 days so the last surviver died in year 6. the tiny lakes are nice to build in them so you can place 1 if lucky both antennas inside lakes so they are protected and since they are the target of the animals you lower the pressure on your base

btw if your interested i got a seed with a huge lake however you can build inside it cause its to deep. and on my current seed haveing a canyon that prodects the base from 1 -1,5 sides.

I do the two "in-base" survivors (researcher and crafter) do the handling job, because they're closer to all that stuff...while the other two do the delivery job, because they'll be the ones delivering resources to the stockpiles anyway. It cuts down their workloads and makes them more efficient.

I started a random seed using 4 random survivors and the seed Random-Boner. Going surprisingly well especially starting out with 0 farmers.

well after that the extreme mode still waiting. where you select Hard mode and then selet the restricion that every stat is 0.

Just a hint if starting to build a hut in summer its enoth time to get it doen befor winter but carefull you will need additional long ranged weapons by the 2nd winter cause then flyer will attack

Watching the series for the second time :) I have been trying to figure out why the seed looks so familiar but different. I am sure it is identical to the one I have been playing - WING-COURSE. The only difference I can see so far is the placement of the debris ( the landing pod crashes further away from the spot where you built). But since I like to build where you did it means the first week has a lot of wasted time walking back and forth transporting ... especially Ken who salvages it all. However, it leaves the whole of the area where you built free for farming and building. I think the breakthroughs are different too and possibly the expeditions ... or they may be RNG. I would like to see the devs add terraforming into the game ... or soil movement of some variety so we can level out the craters left by falling space junk and meteors. The other option of course is just to put buildings over the craters and leave the flatland for farming. One thing I find odd is the pathing and AI logic. I watch them build and sometimes it makes no sense at all why they do a bit here and a bit there, then walk off in the middle of a job to do something else. I could understand if they were out of materials .. but when they fill up half a floor with mats then build a square here and there and then walk off leaving the rest for another time it bugs me. Ken irritates me when he butchers too .. he will carry the meat back but most often leaves the hides for someone else to carry and store. I seem to spend half my play checking the ground for the hides he has left.

Very nice! Excited for this one. Putting everything on three so they would contribute/practice if they have nothing else to do is exactly how I did it, until I realised why not 4 or even 5? Then leave 1 for when I want them to do something RIGHT THE EFF NOW, as I said earlier. Nice thing is usually you don't have to because somebody will get to it with this setup, but sometimes it's time-sensitive. Cooking/crafting setup is awesome with the storages next to it - most of the time is actually spent walking to and from stuff, if you can minimise that with doors and stockpile placements, the time saved is amazing. Table could go there too, so they can eat immediately after picking up the food - also wouldn't hurt to be under the roof in case of rain.

Those Berry bushes that get used for wine are a very good early source of food as eating them raw has less chance of making them sick than the melons or so I've found on my games.

One thing I've found that helps is to put the sleeping bag in the center of the shelter, and put a firepit on both sides of the sleeping bag. That way, when it get cold out, it is nice and warm for the survivors and it lowers the chance of hypothermia.
