❤FTR, you are the most creative farmer/rancher on u-tube. Your skills are amazing. You could build a space ship. You know the saying " when pigs fly "? You could make that happen, I swear ! It's always a pleasure to watch you, I personaly wish your video's were longer.🏆🥇

The way you feed your herd certainly has influenced how gentle they are. The more often you give them hay the less waste there is, and like with rotational grazing, when they see you in the field they are wondering, “What’s Tyler doing…..when he comes around good things happen “ Good job on the pig feeder…..your not just a craftsman, your an ARTIST 🤠

I have run Vermeer and John Deere twin V rakes. I have tried saving money by buying aftermarket teeth at Tractor Supply but have always been greatly disappointed in how long they last. OEM/Vermeer teeth are superior in longevity. Paying a little more up front is worth the time savings of constantly changing teeth when you need to be raking/baling. I am not sure if the same holds true for New Holland but I would guess so.

Tylerisms Having the right tools makes such a big difference. My goal is to get it done before I butcher the pigs. That is the plan for today, but as yo all know the plan often changes. This is the part that I tell you how I am going to ________________________, but I haven't figured it out yet. When there is food to be had, there is not much that they won't do to get it. Well I have developed a number of pasture pets. I so not know if that is good or bad.

I have had really good luck with my battery powered Tomcat trap, it has gotten about three rats so far. They come to my grill on my porch to investigate and when I see signs of them, I bate the trap with a bit of cooked jJmmie Dean breakfast sausage in the bait area. I think it takes four C cells so buy those as well

I would suggest that you put a pad on each leg, first to keep them from sinking into the ground, second each should have a hole in them to be staked down to prevent movement and tipped over by 250-300 lb hogs ( been there experienced that)

My brother picked out replacement heifers. At 12mos old 2 of these heifers calved 1 day apart. No assistance needed. They are raising their calves. They rebred at 14 mos old. It can happen. Keep the videos coming.
@hackatakАй бұрын
Another great video. I am surprised at the 90-day breeding season, leaving the bull with the herd for this long. This just extends the calving season making it less manageable. A 60-65 day breeding season will allow for up to 3 menstrual cycles for healthy mother cows, if they aren't bred in that window, then they need to be on the cull list. Secondly, a 60-day calving season also leads to a more uniform calf crop and consistency within the cows as to focusing on those that reproduce within a specific window of time. Fertility is the single most important trait in any herd and that is where majority of producers focus first to maintain profitability and productivity.

One thing I'm curious about with those pipes skids not being capped off. Considering the problems you have with wasps, isn't that just going to be a wasp super hidey hole? If that happens your pigs won't get near the feeder because they'll get stung.
@duanejohnson334Ай бұрын
Maybe cap the ends of pipe, that sit on the ground, to keep mice or rodents out
