Pretty sure they took Beta ranks and saw how insanely high people were getting and adjusted accordingly because there was a lot of players 30k+ and last time I checked there’s only one player 30k+ rn

I finished LEM in CSGO and my first 3 premier games have people around 1.5k rating. I've heard they did a hard reset of the ranks but it could just be the system not transferring over accurately. idk

your CSGO rating is NOT relevant to cs2 ratings and they are not supposed to transfer over. This is a new game and this is your skill level based on ur matches win rate

There is something wonky with the ranks in cs2, i've talked to multiple people on enemy teams that were completely demolishing us and a few said they were global and got around 4-6k rating, with one saying he was even faceit lvl 10 and got 1600. In competitive i lost 3 games on dust 2 before getting my rank and got gold 1, and i was legendery eagle in csgo

Not exactly easy to determine a rank when pretty much everyone you encounter doesn't have a rank to compare you to. I won every game on my main, mostly carrying with either 20 or 30 kills, and got 1700. Played way worse on my smurf (not intentionally, I just sucked), lost probably half of the games and got put into 8000. Not really worth playing for the rank rn, probably a better choice to just wait for others to get ranks so you won't have to climb all the way up in case you get put into lower elo. 8000 elo is easier than 2000. Might not even need to wait that long, I've been seeing more ranked players than unranked recently.

well the ranks are bound to be fucky, a bunch of people who got time to you know get good at a *decently* similar game (aka csgo) are playing it and it hasnt had time to establish a new rank ladder and such. (also there seems to be minor differences that are throwing "good players from csgo" because they've yet to correct their aim or whatever to the new in cs2)

the phenomena is fairly similar to what I encounter in League each season tho, you basically are just throwing away your placement matches if you play within the first month or two after the new season starts since there's a *slight* reset on how matchmaking is determined so way too skilled players are getting matched against complete newbies

i was DMG in csgo got placed at silver 2 in dust 2. the only map i used to play pretty much. now its 90% iranian and indian toxic teammates vs iranian and indian hacker enemies. great job valve you did your best as an indie non multi billion dollar company.

Same, I was 14k in beta and then 1.4k in Season 1. Agency global in CSGO and Global in Wingman, but Premier is a different beast if you solo queue, etc. Don't let it knock you down! You don't lose any elo up until 4k and then that becomes the bottom to work up from. I'm already at 4.5k.

Pretty sure they did a Hard Reset and used an Elo system (not ant conventional elo system I've seen yet) and it's algorithm. I started at 1500 odd and have not had games where losing loses me points, it's always +200 unless it's the last 12 points before promo. Also been demolishing and going on 8+ win streaks but I think that's a combination of the servers getting better with spray and hit reg (i was a poor soul who got shafted by the cs2 beta netcode) and me getting back into my stride because the hit reg is more responsive again and thus I feel like I'm playing csgo again, and I was SMFC in Go

These ratings are wild. I had like a 4k rating in the beta after my first 10 wins and I got the same as you (1700ish). All solo queue (wtb frens). The thing that blows is that some VERY good players have way too of ratings too. Played a game yesterday and had two CSGO LEMs on my team. Its not fun when you get smoked cause lets face it, im not good, but at least I used to have fun.

depending on when these games were played getting such low elo isnt abnormal. You have to remember all the pros are also doing their matches at the same time so you'll go against people you REALLY shouldn't.

everyone I play with got between 1000-4000. Ive had players much better than me (faceit 9s and 10s) in bmy games ranked the same or even below. the ratings are all kinds of messed up.. i feel bad for the actual silver players at the lower levels lol. i was LE and started at 3500 and made my way to 5k pretty quickly. if your below 4k you can do it very quickly as loses count for 0 lost elo so you can only go up.

Ranks are pretty accurate tbh, I’m 13-14k and people get progressively better the higher they are for the most part, skill drops fairly heavily at around 9.5k.

@@macse7en because majority of player are yet to climb to where tjey belong, placement ratings currently depend mostly on who you happen to get matched against. if your opponent happens to have 4k rating you tend to play around that and go up. no rating then you play around 2000.

Don't worry, 1500 is the lowest. After that the game will even feel sorry for you and will not make you lose any elo for losses.

@@naxxivar2225 Since they are just going with this number based system, I wonder why they didn't just make it your scoreboard number? Highest number being worst, and that way the #1 player gets to rock the #1 next to their name. That way when you are grinding ELO you are at least seeing yourself progress. Maybe because the numbers would be int he millions, but still. This point system is kind of dumb because it doesn't corelate much.
