I think losing a parent when there was a rocky relationship is sometimes worse. The “should haves” or “what ifs” can eat you alive, especially when it’s unexpected and you’ve probably spent so much time wishing things were different and had hope that one day it would get better. My heart is with you and I really hope you are surrounded by support and love. Be kind to yourself, give yourself grace and remember that everyone grieves different and in their own time and their own way oh a F the people that are judging you 🖤

Omg yes girl! When you struggle with a relationship with a toxic parent as long as they are alive you as the child victim always hold on to a small amount of hope that that parent could acknowledge what they had done to you and that you would be able to forgive and move on to a healthy relationship with them. If a death happens prior to any reconciliation it's crushing. It closes all hope, all chances of vindication, all potential for the future that you always wished for. You are so right!

As someone who has an estranged parental relationship my heart is so with you ❤️❤️❤️ when they are gone you mourn the relationship you wanted with your parent, that other kids have that you deserved too. Kyra I’m so sorry to hear of the passing of your mom. Grief isn’t linear and effects one person differently to another. I can’t begin to imagine the emotions your having to face and I don’t think anyone else can no matter if they’ve lost their mom. Came to say that grief with a turbulent relationship is incredibly hard. Grieving not only the person themselves, the good of them but the relationship you wanted with them. It also resurfaces the pain of the bad parts of the relationship. Be kind to yourself in this process. 💗

I no exactly how you feel. I lost my mom in September this year, I have good days bad days and medium days. It is all normal going back to work was the best thing I did as I needed something to fill my days . Getting back in to routine will help with your mental state but also taking the time you need to grieve. If you need to cry let it out there are many days I can’t get out of bed. Just no that you are not alone ❤

I've lost a parent ( one I had such hard times and feelings with) it still hurts me deeply. Still bothers me. I've lost numerous of friends, cousins and some. It's all hurtful, difficult and overwhelming. I have no choice but push forward. Get up go to work and live life. Oh, there's days I cry sometimes and dread it. I lost my father in August last year and we had little to no relationship by the end of his life. It was difficult for me to have him in my life which I won’t get into but grief is weird. Although I said goodbye to him years before that young child in me mourns what could’ve been. Grief is different for everyone and trying to explain it is hard but you’re not alone ❤
