Hair stylist here🙋🏻‍♀️ most box dye is 20 volume which is used for lightening and then depositing color (great for grey coverage). Since you only need to deposit color to correct tone I would recommend a professional tube of color (like you initially looked at) in either the level 4 or 5 range and then a volume 10 developer. Hope that helps ❤️

@@themissgpg It’s not lightening it any more but it’s opening the hair shaft more than what is needed which can cause more damage over time. Using 10 volume will be more gentle and the hair will feel healthier overall while still getting the darker color/tone correcting results.

I read the one comment regarding your content, i think your content is great, i think we all like it because you’re YOU! you’re genuine and you do what you do, you don’t often go out of your way just to make content like most other creators, which honestly is more often than not pretty cringe bc they act like they’re the 💩. You live your life and just happen to film it. You show us the raw and purest Tara and i can feel your genuine character. I feel like that other comment was just rude and mean, they certainly didn’t have to word it the way they did, i feel like they were just having a 💩 day and taking it out on you. Personally, I love your content. Hey love your videos! I’m a hairstylist also 12 years. If you want to get rid of the red hue in your hair. Always go for the ash tones. Anything that is 5NA/5A. Anything with a 5W/5G/5NW is only going to enhance the warmth and redness and not cancel it out like the ash ❤

To combat the red, you need an ashy toned brown! My hair has been bright red for years and ash brown has taken it out twice for me! I use medium ash brown from colour ion with 40vol developer and leave it on for an hr.. you can get it at Sally’s Beauty!

Look for a green toning shampoo and conditioner. It helps neutralize the reds in brunette hair.

Green cancels out red in your brown hair. Ash would of been perfect. The only downfall is ash looks very dark. Also using permanent haircolor will ALWAYS have MORE RED undertones. I highly suggest spending the money to get your hair colored demi brown at the salon if you are tired of it washing red, it also won't actually lift the color of your natural hair which is why you're getting red when you wash your permanent color.

I'm in the beginning of the vlog, but if the red is still in there go with an Ash brown. Ash brown can be used to cancel out red hair tones because it's a cool color that doesn't usually contain many red or orange tones. A neutral or cool/ash brunette shade can help minimize red tones and create a more natural brunette look.

Permanent color lifts and then deposits. You should not be applying permanent color on your ends for the full time after they have been previously colored. You need to be using demi permanent to tone and darken.

Tara as a hairstylist and fan, I’m saying this with love. STOP BOX DYING YOUR HAIR! It’s only exposing more and more warmth each time you do it bc of the unnecessary lift with the permanent AND 20 volume. You only need to deposit at this point (we only need lift when going blonde, not when going darker) long story short. Hair has red/orange inside of it. This gets exposed when we lift- permanent lifts, 20 volume helps the color lift even more. DEMI OR SEMI ONLY OK LYSM BYE
