Your old format was the best. So wheeling, some cooking, some camping, then explore a town with a nice meal in town. Nice dialogue about each part. I miss these kind of videos.

this channel is DOA. Van channels are for 20 something good looking girls who are "finding" themselves. I unsubbed a while back like others and stop in from time to time. His follow up at the end should have been done two years ago so the comments didnt roast him. That should have be a completely one off video. He owed the channel and the subs that info long ago. He really screwed the pooch when he didn't.

Happy to see you back creating new adventures. Nothing wrong with adapting your format and content that works for you. Sure some people will leave because they just wanted the roaming Chris content. But others will come for the weekend or week at a time content. For me the core of venture 4WD was about exploring and experiencing new things. I don’t believe that requires you to live out of a Jeep full time to do.

Chris you said you started Venture4WD, as a way to tell your story. I think you did that, and the story you told was about the unknown adventure. And you did it very well. It was produced very well, yet kept that honest, raw feel to it. Your viewership grew as we found this amazing raw adventure. That was your secret formula that you did not know you had when starting Venture4WD. We got to know you, watch your story, and live an adventure most of us will never get to do ourselves. Then in the past two years we got to see your life change, and we are happy that you found what you were ultimately looking for with Shanon, and settling down and putting roots in AZ. But all stories have to end and I think your story of adventure with us has ended. Last year Venture4WD seemed like desperation to just keep revenue coming in. The few “Trips” you did were just day trips around AZ where you live, just like this trip was, and not the true unknown adventure we all came to watch & love from you. When was the last time anyone’s seen Orangie? Your attempt to take old footage and try to make new, was not interesting or inspiring for your core audience. So much so we quit watching the recycled shows and eventually thought you too gave up, as your channel went silent for along time with no explanation. Then you returned with a Land Rover infomercial, and again went silent. Also if you notice I say “We” as myself and several friends followed you and you were a weekly conversation for us. Even a few friends met you at the Overland Expo. We get life changes and no one expects you to not change for the better. But like I said the story you were originally telling us is over, like a good book or TV show, they all end. I get your trying to reinvent the Venture4WD brand, and I wish you the best luck. Maybe it would be better to start over with something new and not try to make it Venture4WD as I’m not sure what you want to do can live up to the reputation and foundation you have built. I already feel like you feel forced to put content out just for the algorithm and revenue the channel made. I will continue to follow you to see what the next few episodes are like and what the direction the channel is going. But I/We can’t guarantee we will stay. I wish you & Shannon all the happiness you deserve and I wish you success in your careers whatever that may be going forward?
@d37tae11 ай бұрын
100% Agree. I love y'all and your story, but the recent stuff seems too fabricated. I can't get into it. I was never here for the shots of tires going over rocks and campsite reviews. I was here for the idea of just getting out and wandering around, grilling terrible sandwiches, and enjoying that excitement and fear. Not sure what it would take to put that back into the channel, but as a long time viewer, I double dog dare you to travel overseas. Go somewhere weird (I would recommend without a vehicle at first) and just walk around. Take busses. Visit the small towns and rural areas with 0 tourist sites. I have no idea if this would work for your KZbin career, but I think it would be amazing for you, personally. Best wishes!

Well said, I know he can’t be doing this videos for us. He needs to be doing them for himself. I also think his adventure has (inadvertently?) come to an end. Happy new year and welcome back! I have seen all your videos - From when you were a lean hungry lone wolf looking for meaning and your own territory/pack to now when you have found your new center and happiness - and appreciate you sharing your travels and life with us. Please don't try and appease the algorithm, just be you. There is a lot of content on youtube and there are a lot of creators making travel and overland videos. The reason (to me at least) that you stood out is because your videos and stories are just as much about you as the journey and location. You will settle into a new path forward. Remember when you started you had no path also. May I suggest taking a bulk of time per year (lets say a month) and going old school with a no idea where you are going trip. Take care!

It is only my opinion that the algorithm is designed for KZbin's best interest, not necessarily your best interest. There is a difference in your content when you try to conform to what KZbin wants. Stick with your style and interest, that is what brought us to your channel. Stick to that and your loyal fans will be there including when you do meet and greets

Pinal and Gila Counties are beautiful in the winter. There’s a dirt road that cuts west from Dudleyville to state route 79 south of Florence. I’ve always wanted to explore it. Maybe add that to your adventure bucket list? Also, some amazing areas to explore between Globe-Miami and Superior. Finally, our saguaros took a real hit from the heat last summer. Many have toppled over. Be wary of parking next to those saguaros that show a rotting, decomposing necrosis about 3-4 feet from ground level.

Suggestion for the website, maybe there can be an interactive map page or something where it’s one big map of North America to show an overview of your incredible adventures And maybe the pin can link to any videos in that state or county or I’m not sure how to divide it up but I think a giant map overview can help show the scale of the ongoing adventures Cheers!

@venture4wd11 ай бұрын
They are pretty great! Although eating out of a plastic box for 10+ meals per week for several months straight has gotten OLD. Shannon set us up on these once we realized our kitchen Reno was snowballing into much more extensive and long-terms repairs. Absolutely not a product placement. I am very clear if and when that happens - which is basically never, bar the occasional OK4WD and Sonoran Rovers association.

THANK YOU for making videos this year without caring about "The Almighty Algorithm". Just make them to share what's going on and for fun. I get SO tired of lame videos from other channels who publish sometimes just for the sake of publishing SOMETHING, rather than for the sake of quality and interesting content. There's nothing wrong with missing a week or two here and there. Publish for love, not for a stinkin' algorithm. Thanks again!

Happy New Year Chris, I was watching the opening shot where you could see all that vibration from the roof rack on the Revel, I really like this vehicle and it lead me to thinking, How's it holding up? Like interior cabinetry etc. How often do you go over the vehicle to tighten everything down. I mean if there's anyone out there that pushes this vehicle to the max you'd be at the top of the group. I'm seriously thinking about buying a Revel and watching your videos, it would do anything that I would need it to do. Cheers Aussie.

It’s been rock solid and I haven’t actually gone over anything on the interior to button up. Exceptions being 1. Slide window leaked a bit in heavy rain and 2. we do have some water that gets in the liner above the center “console” so to speak. Impossible to tell whether it’s ingress from the outside, or accumulated condensation. Only happens in extremely humid environments w/ rain
