I had an emergency c section with my daughter last year. You absolutely CAN have that bonding moment if they come out healthy!! I advocated for delayed cord clamping, immediate skin to skin, and breastfeeding within the first hour of life & all of those things were honored, even with a c-section. Of course, if the babies are very premature and need immediate medical intervention, that will take priority. But if they are stable, don’t be afraid to advocate for yourself! Congratulations and I’m so excited for you. Can’t wait to see the beautiful babies! ❤️

As a twin mom who had an emergency C-section at 35 weeks (pre-eclampsia), I recommend sleeping flat in a recliner when you get home from the hospital (if you can make it work). It’s so much easier to get up when your abs are compromised and trying to heal, when you have the side bar and lift mechanism to help you. Also, wear elastic-waist pants that don’t hit right on your incision, and when you’re in the car, keep a pillow on your belly and hold it on tight when you go over big bumps like railroad tracks. I discovered those when I was recovering and they really helped. You’re beautiful, you’re strong, and you can do this! All the best for your delivery!
@SharksRevenge3 жыл бұрын
This dude finds that advice really good. Thank you for sharing your experiences.
@andrewhaywood38533 жыл бұрын
I’m a dude that has had three c-sections, and the recliner is really good advice if you can afford it. Getting up from laying down is extremely difficult, but once you’re up it’s not so bad. Also for holding the weight of the belly and stopping it from pulling on the stitches you can get a band that goes around the bump, generally I think it’s meant for support whilst pregnant, but it would be great after a c-section.

Colleen! so my sister had a C-section and she is very short, with INTENSE back pain/problems before she got pregnant... so you know her pregnancy was painful and there was no way her back could handle birth. So they did a c-section and girl when I tell you she LOVED every second of it. The lead up was of course nerve wracking but once they medicated her, and she no longer felt pain, she just felt on cloud nine and spent the whole time with a smile on her face. You got this! If you do end up getting a C-section, take your brain off of whats happening and focus on the fact that you are no longer in pain. You got this

Momma! I’m a mom of twins. C-section momma here! I’m gonna say this, GET UP AND MOVE AS AS POSSIBLE AFTERWARD! I delivered at 35 weeks. My girls didn’t go into the NICU. They weighed 4lb 13.6 oz and 4 lbs and 14.7oz. We ALL came home 2 days later! But DEFINITELY invest in Boppy loungers, NOT PILLOWS! It’s so much easier to feed them at the same time on your own! You will find out that twins are easier than a single infant. They have each other to occupy. Don’t be afraid to separate them at nap times and sleep time. You are about to witness an amazing thing! Watching 2 babies interact with each other and giggle with each other is such a heat warming thing! C-sections aren’t as bad as people say. As long as you start moving as soon as you are able to get out of bed, the better off you will be. I was back to doing everything I could before in a week! You’re a strong woman!!! You got this!!!!

Colleen thank you so much for your transparency, as someone that has dealt with eating disorders my whole life I understand how hard it is to open up about stuff like that. But thank you so much for your words of comfort. You are doing amazing and I hope that you can always remember that. Sending so much love from Canada!

I'm currently 20 weeks pregnant and have been struggling with depression for many years. I've been really anxious my depression might impact my baby negatively while in the womb and it's incredibly reassuring to know that you've been struggling with depression while being pregnant with Flynn as well and he is a precious little bean and thriving. Thank you.

Tortilla talk question: how is Eric feeling about the babies being breech and the potential c-section? Im from Wales in the UK. Im a c section momma, my c section wasn't planned and i too felt this anxiety and sadness when finding out i had to have an emergency c section but i promise you its just as a wonderful experience and honestly the birth part is way easier you get to just lay there and everyone else does the hard work for you so thats one bonus 😉 i would love to give you some words of wisdom, I know a c section seems very scary as its foreign to you right now. I promise you its alot more calm and pleasant than you think it will be! the doctors who did my c section were absolutely amazing! Its such a lovely environment and they make you feel so at ease It's a totally different experience but its still so magical! Your anxieties and the sadness your feeling towards it is completely normal! When your in there and how quickly the first baby will come out all the negative feelings towards having a birth you didn't really want completely go away I promise, Your going to do amazing ❤

I agree with this 100%! I had to have an emergency c-section and was totally knocked out because my epidural didn’t take. But I didn’t find it took anything away from my birth experience. Recovery from my surgery wasn’t painful at all. I only took extra strength Tylenol because I was nursing and didn’t want to take any painkillers. So don’t be scared. I still had an amazing bond with my son who’s now 20. Good luck ❤️

tortilla talk question: could you tell us about your grandpa and his twin sister? i would find it so interesting to hear about their names, their relationship as twins, or even specific interests or hobbies that they had. i wonder if you’ll see traits of your grandpa and his twin sister in your twins as they grow up! i love you so much and i hope you’re having a merry early christmas❤️💚

Idk if she mentioned it in the video or not but she could be naming the twins after her grandpa and great aunt so she might not answer the name part

Girl don’t even worry about gaining weight that’s totally normal especially for pregnancy 💗 in fact I’m young and not even pregnant and I gained 70 lbs out of nowhere in about 6 months due to anxiety and the medication I have to be on, I didn’t change my eating habits at all. Sometimes that just happens but it’s just your body giving you the nutrients and what you need to function 💗you’re doing absolutely incredible never forget that and we’re here for you 🥺 you’ve given me so much support by just being open and honest like I struggle with really severe anxiety and depression and dermatilamania (I don’t know how to spell that🤭😂) and you’re vlogs keep me going and help me feel less alone because no one else talks about it so thank you 😭🙏🏻 ❤️ you probably won’t see this but in the off chance that you do I just want you to know how incredible you are and that you help so many people 💗🥺

I dunno if you’ll see this, but as a premie baby (I was born at 25 weeks and weighed 1 pound 7oz) I obviously can’t personally speak for my moms experience but she said that the c-section and the whole process though scary was so calming once it all happened. Knowing that I was being cared for 24/7 while also her being able to care for herself after surgery was so calming and gave her a sense of relief. She also had my brother premature (we’re 9 months and a week apart lol) and had to go through the process all over again, and she was so grateful because she could separate her time between my brother and me and again knowing he had 24/7 care while I was at home with her. I know it’s scary but I know you got this!!! 💕💕

@@marianogueira7506 i think just spraying hairspray on a little bit of ornaments is fine…especially in late pregnancy. It’s only in early pregnancy with high exposure it could cause problems from what I know. A normal amount is totally fine.
