You have been the only instructor I have ever found, that has an approach that does anything but make the audience feel inadequate. I wish all instructors - from all facets of life and education - would share the same approach. Not only is it very clear that you have an immense love (and understanding) of music, but the joy you have with helping others greatly shows as well! Thank you, Oscar, for everything you do... I owe so very much of my growth and latest appreciations of music production to you!

two things . . . - SOLD, you single handedly sold me these plugins, really amazing, especially the all in the box feature. - Secondly, i love the way you created the bass, simply thinking about the rhythm first. It's so obvious and nothing you dwelled on, but it's my biggest takeaway from this video. My basslines have improved immediately, in a big way. thanks so much. I really love all your vids mate, and i'm so glad to see you with sponsors.

It's always difficult for me (and painful ) to go all the way through a 20 min tutorial....but not in your case. So much interesting and practical knowledge and tips...You have a rare gift (as a "teacher") to make your "student" interested and inspired.... and one more thing to wrap it up: You are a walking contradiction of a saying "Those who can do....those who can't teach". Oscar this is brilliant. In the 80's I obsessed on The Art of Noise, and have wanted to create weird beats out of just noise ever since. But how? You know the song "A Time for Fear"? I had a nightmare based on that noise rhythm, and I want to go back to it. I want to create it in a DAW. Not long ago you taught me how to use a vocoder with a noise oscillator, which was great, and now this. Your channel is the best thing on KZbin for me. What a treasure trove. I've been on a personal quest for what you have shown here. I'm picking up this VST for sure, and you provided a beautiful kick start lesson. You're a great communicator. You make the impossible suddenly easy. Thank you!

Very enjoyable as always! How did you know about the 1.2k likes? ;) Good point about the high precision of Live. What would, in your opinion, be an instrument with a lot of "chaos" to it, naturally? Something to compose full, or almost full tracks on.

This is a wonderful video. You teach the underlying principles and techniques. By demystifying the plugin, you also show how to use it fully, so Cableguys must be happy, too! All your tutorials are great, but this one goes beyond that! love it! I knew envelop followers and complex LFO, and have cableguys already..but somehow got lost in their tricky "time" feature and lost interest- You showed here, how I can achieve with the other, simpler features and good piling of it really nice, organic textures- really groovy! Great example. I still don't understand how the brain merges all this layers and says that's "groovy" but it definitely happens for me. Cableguys gets another chance!

I really like the playful approach, particularly that last swung element topping it off. I've heard of the cableguys effects but not seen what they can do. I can see that Shaperbox alone could quickly produce some wildly dynamic, atonal grooves. Couple these with say Cthulu, I think the possibilities are very exciting indeed.

Heres an idea for a "glue track" When you reach the mix and edit stage. Do not delete all of the edits. Collect the bits and pieces of your unwanted audio edits and save to a new track. Consolidate. Re-sample and there you have the base material for your glue track. How you process them further is down to you. What you have can be manipulated in so many ways.to fit your composition, should be obvious...You could use the term recycling waste audio.

Hey! Amazing Video, thanks for sharing. Would be great to know how to use these techniques without the plug-ins. For the Envelope Follower their is a Max for Live tool, but what about the Complex LFO and the Noise Shaper?
@OscarUnderdog3 жыл бұрын
I think the "shaper" tool can be a complex LFO, and you'll see it built into LFOTool and Serum as well, to name a few! The noise shaper itself... I guess you could do a lot by using a vocoder to achieve something similar, but for 30€ (I think?) I have to say it's pretty darn good value, perhaps not worth trying to hack together your own solution :)
@howlifefeels3 жыл бұрын
You are completely right actually, my problem ist just that my Ableton version has a bug in it and everytime I try to use a plug in, it shuts down. So I try to keep up doing music, even if I would love to use plug ins. But I’m pretty sure that the Ableton presets have a lot more to offer than we sometimes think ...
