Getting Drunk With Samaritans and a Palestinian | The Ancient Israelites 🇮🇱

In this video, we visited the Samaritans and bought the lads some locally brewed Arak. We got quite drunk with a few Samaritans and a Palestinian for Nablus who was a former member of Fatah that spent 5 years in an Israeli prison. After that, we met a Russian/Ukrainian from Simferopol, Crimea and went to the viewpoint overlooking Nablus and Balata refugee camp. Join us!

@@mjohn5921 yeah bro my Arabic is crap, I don’t even consider it a language I speak. I was just in Nazareth yesterday on my to the airport! Best hummus in the world, man (Hummus Amiad). I am thinking about renting an apartment in Ramallah for a month or two just to work on my Arabic (by making myself forced to speak it which is the best way to learn). Sending love to Nazareth ❤️

@@mjohn5921 yeah man, it would make one hell of a series renting in Ramallah, can’t really afford it at the minute though. I feel like knowing fluent Arabic would mean I can navigate almost the entire world in the local languages with Russian Spanish and Arabic. The reason that I don’t put that much effort into Arabic to be honest is because I already have Russian and Spanish under my belt and I feel like I should focus more on making use of that instead of starting a whole new project now. I know of italki, thanks for the offer.I think I’ll invest more into Arabic when KZbin becomes my full time gig and I have more free time. Currently balancing one video a week and working enough to not starve isn’t leaving me with much free time

I visited their village from Nablus. They say many Muslims from Nablus are descended from Samaritans. There were Samaritans in other parts of the Middle East too, like Damascus. When the person said they’re all Arab he didn’t mean like genetically or ancestrally, but because they all speak Arabic, grew up in the same place and are friends, they see each other as the same but just with different religions. Your videos show how kind-hearted, friendly and hospitable Arabs and Palestinians are, and I hope more Israelis see that side.

This is real travelling for me dude, awesome moments meeting people from different backgrounds/ beliefs/ opinions and finding common ground. I’d heard of Samaritans but didn’t know their story. Cool stuff Salukie, if you don’t mind me saying your interview skills are becoming refined and you know now how to get stories out of people…. Knowing when to shut up and let them talk is a real skill.

I didn’t really know either before making this video, that’s the beauty of it mate. Thanks again for the comment Dave. Too many people don’t know how to shut up and listen. I try only to interrupt in order to elaborate when someone says something that would be ambiguous to someone who’s unfamiliar with the topic.

My second video great content thanks it’s very interesting seeing everyone get along I love that. I can almost keep up with most of the conversation when it’s in Arabic but I did notice some similarities in words when watching the translations. A funny story from my college days I at a night club just outside of Detroit and was bullshitting with some guy about all the hot females and he asked what nationality I was. I told him Palestinian and he was kinda like ok, then I said but I’m Christian and his face just lit up! He was an ex Israeli soldier and he said some of his best friends back home were Palestinian Christian’s and wouldn’t let me buy my own drink the rest is the time we hung out regardless of me offering to pick up the next round he said no way your like my brother. That was unexpected and really cool of him. This video reminded me of that night.

I wish you all the best.

I only heard of Samaritans when Jesus mentioned them in the Bible. They were considered second class citizens of the Jews back then, & were not considered Jews.. . What was their old religion back the do you know anyone??? did they still practice some sort of Judaism? The Gospel said Jesus met a samaritan woman at a well & spoke to her prophesying to her. it was significant story in the Bible. God bless guys.
