First off happy birthday. I've never been one to put much into them after you quite having parties as a kid :) 21 was important, and 25 was when car insurance finally dropped, but after that..meh. Sadly Americans especially are focused on youth, especially the music industry. Short of being born to rich people or winning the lottery, it's just a lot of hard work. I will say 30 is nothing, 40 is a blip, but 50 was a bit of a surprise, things just start working differently in the old body and all those things you should have done to stay healthy come back to haunt you and are suddenly 50x harder Then events start to happen that show you how short life really is. Thanks for sharing, hope it helps you find what you are searching for.

I’m going to recommend you spend a day walking around downtown Vancouver. As in WA. It’s a weirdly grounding experience when you live in Portland. I still can’t fully explain it, but I’ve recommended it to several pdx buds when they’d each turned 30 and all but one agreed. 4/5 jussayin
