Honestly I’ve tried out action cams and DSLRs and all that but they take forever to turn on. By the time it’s running the moment is gone. With the iPhone it’s just so convenient. Though I’m holding off until the iPhone 16 gets announced in a few months.

People who aren’t professionals (if the image is framed right, etc.) cannot tell. Even professionals sometimes can’t tell the difference now with some shots, especially with prores raw. With 3rd party apps and editing, these phone cameras are extremely impressive.

100 percent, I do want to take some of these photos into editing software and mess with them. They’re all JPEGs though, still need to look into if it’s worth shooting RAW on the iPhone

@@DylanParisMusic raw is definitely worth it when you get them to post. Same with video, but even without raw you can still push the image/video enough to where it looks good. I’m still on the 14 pro so I don’t even mess with raw/prores - huuuge file size

I just ordered an OLED Deck, this video was very helpful. My tv (I got it almost two years ago) is also an LGC1. I agree it's the best tv I've ever had, first time seeing what an OLED screen is in person, amazing color accuracy, sharpness, clarity. OLED is literally what I always imagined tv could be in terms of display presentation, even more enjoyable for video gaming.

For a casual gamer who started playing video games using the Nintendo Famicom, Nintendo Super Famicom, Ps1, Ps2.. Steamdeck pulled me out of my gamer hibernation and I'm extremely overjoyed to be able to play retro games, triple AAA games. I know its gonna be a while before the Steamdeck 2 will come out, but I'm looking forward to it.

My only wish is just a little more power. That’s the only thing that keeps me picking up my ally more than my deck is BG3 hogwarts legacy just running better. If I could just get the rog ally performance in a deck 2 be beyond happy.
@DylanParisMusic3 күн бұрын
Super fair! I think all these devices are a series of trade offs between power, weight, and efficiency. For me the OLED deck wins the balance, but if you can stand the shorter battery life of the Ally or the weight of the X then the performance is nice. Ally screen is too small for me though, and I love the HDR OLED on the deck

Is steam deck oled better than new upcoming ally x?
@DylanParisMusic3 күн бұрын
In my opinion absolutely. The OLED screen is better, the OS is smoother and actually designed for the hardware, and the quality of life overall with updates and target specs is better. There are others who prefer the Ally so they’ll likely prefer the X, more power to them!

I had a journey with the new MPCs and I've landed on really enjoying the MPC One. I no longer see it as MPC vs. SP vs. Digitakt vs. Maschine Plus vs. Push 3, etc. I think each of these are all unique and useful for their own purposes, each having its strengths, with some pretty common areas of overlap between them all. This has helped with my GAS and also with always feeling like what I have is inadequate to make what I feel is meaningful music. That being said, I totally agree the value of a used MPC One is very high bang for the buck. P.s. How is your "theory" knowledge when it comes to making music? I'm just curious as to what your background is in regards to that.
@DylanParisMusic8 күн бұрын
Agreed! And my background with theory is almost nonexistent. I play most instruments by ear, I know a few chords on piano and guitar from lessons as a kid and also took marimba, violin, cello, and choir lessons in elementary school. No theory ever though, not opposed to it just wasn’t super interested
@remyvegamedia8 күн бұрын
@@DylanParisMusic I was curious, because your chord/ usually make good "sense," so to speak, and that often happens by learning by ear, too. But it makes sense that you had experience with the fundamentals in your formative years. That makes more of a difference than we realize sometimes. Also makes sense you have vocal experience. Your vocals on your album sound really good man. So, I'm a piano/theory teacher and if you ever wanted to do a Zoom lesson I would absolutely love to share some useful and fun stuff with you. Not even just trying to plug, I just genuinely feel it would be fun to chop it up with you and share some of what I've learned haha. No pressure man, either way I'm here to support the channel, just reach out if you're ever interested!

I think the low price for a box with so much packed into says a ton about the value of good UI. People are quick to say "oh the MPC workflow isn't for me" or similar, but the workflow is fine... the UI on the modern MPC series is just horrible. There are so many pages and hidden functions that people have to use constantly but are easy to forget exactly where that one thing might live. The very fact that converting chopped samples to a kit is a shift function, I mean... how many new users have been subjected to hours of youtube videos just to do the one thing the MPC was built for? Even watching this video we can see why the MPC breaks apart, it's those "uhh" moments where your brain just has to think about something other than the process of making music. This is coming from an MPC-One user, while it has the most bang for the buck, it's not a fun box. I find myself constantly reaching for my SP-404mkii over the MPC-One almost daily, or even an elektron box like the syntakt.

I disagree that it’s not fun but I agree that it takes FOREVER to get the hang of

It'd be interesting to have your experience on this second hand buy compared to a new one : are paid plugins and extensions carried over ? Is it tied to the device or the user account? Did you factory reset it ? All the little practical details.
@DylanParisMusic8 күн бұрын
Plugins carry over, the authentication process is annoying and finicky but I’ve done it about 5 times now
@MattPerrin7 күн бұрын
I picked up a used Live2 on Reverb and only some of the plugins would transfer over to me (OP-X, and Delay Pro) from the previous owner. If I remember right, he said he couldn't transfer the others because he had bought them in a bundle and there was no option to allow it. I ended up factory resetting it when it arrived, and replaced the SSD with a new one just to be sure the unit was clean. When I reset my account on it, the two extra plugins installed just fine. Als0, the stock plugins & samples on the MPCs are impressive, but I found the real powerhouse feature is using Keygroups with samples from Splice. Hack them up a bit, apply effects, resample them, and it can be really fun to experiment with.
