After selling my FJ40 we purchased FJ60 wagon . We brought the 60 to Fordyce trail area to learn the pros and cons of our stock fj60. I installed my 35” tires for safety. Other than that near bone stick:)

Thanks for the video. We are based out of north Lake Tahoe in our 1982 FJ60. If you’re looking for well built sliders, Grass Valley based 4x4Labs makes them stout and low profile, along with amazing high clearance bumpers. We use ours on Rubicon. If you are looking for new/used parts, service, and modifications, call Georg at Valley Hybrids/Cruiser Brothers in Stockton California.

Enjoyed the off road footage, your 60 looks good, gotta love the Hulk though and the drivers smooth steady technique. Looks like fun

I was just going to comment on how poor the clearance was on those sliders, then it got ripped off. Sweet rig though, looks like fun.

Great meeting you! We found a Billstein shock on our way back down the trail. I assume it wasn’t any of yours but let me know if someone went missing a shock after the trail.

Surprised you squeezed 35's in there. Any clearance issues when turning? X2 on the bumpers. What brand are they?

In few spots the tire rubbed the fender well, but nothing too concerning. BFg km2 35 12.5 x15

Surprised how well the rig ran on those 35’s with only a 2” lift or have you already updated to the 4” ? My rigs the same color, I like it. Are you thinking of doing anything else for performance, engine wise? Sorry for bugging ya but I’m a big fan of the 60’s

Off topic question, but what camera did you use to film this?
@4x2WagonFamily

iPhone XR.

I should add that I use my iPhone most of the time because I do most of my editing on my phone for that reason using my phone makes most sense. but I have 3 other cameras for specific situations. Fujifilm xt1 water tight, Sony a5100, and Panasonic xt100. It really depends on type of image and look I’m going for. I hope that answered your question?

@@4x2WagonFamily Thanks! The whole time I was watching this I kept wondering "How is this footage so smooth?!" I have an action cam I keep meaning to take out on adventures like this, but I can't seem to eliminate the shakiness quite as nicely as yours. Do you do some post editing to eliminate the shaking or do I just need a nice iPhone these days? 😊

@@desereejoannereid307 I hold the phone camera with both hands as steady as possible, but in this video i'm using dji gimbal from amazon 99.00. If you don't have one, it's a must for content creators.... :)

Are the 60s triple locked like the FZJ80s?
@4x2WagonFamily
@4x2WagonFamily 4 жыл бұрын
There’s no straight answer to your question:) I’m not sure what you mean by triple locked, but all 4x4 has a center transfer case that locks the front and rear drive shaft but the down side of all 4x4 is the open differential including all land cruisers sold in the us. only few trucks on the market that came off the assembly line with a standard front and rear diff locks are jeep rubicon, and Mercedes G wagon. That said, most come with a rear locking diff or an LSD limited slip diff and electronic front traction control system. What makes the 40 and 60s so good is they have really good flex. I hope that answered your question.

60s abroad(outside US) had option for factory cable lockers. Otherwise in US open differentials. There are mechanical, air, and electrical lockers available. I have ARB on my 1982.

@@4x2WagonFamily Actually there is a straight answer, and it is "No." By triple locked he means front, center and rear lockers like some 93-97 FZJ80s came from the factory with. Surprised you were unaware of that. Nice video!

Jeep guy could've gotten up that without a winch. A little torque from a bit farther back and he would've been up it. Oh well.
