@morganyu812 He was a very raw prospect. He was good in college, but that was at UTSA which doesn't necessarily wow even when paired with elite traits. He was viewed as a really big project whereas those others had elite pedigree or were more "polished". Even then, him falling to the 5th was still surprising because his traits are freaky and the NFL loves guys like that.

So excited to see this secondary group this year. Tariq was a DROTY runner up and he just started playing corner he’s only going to get better. Combine that with the physical tenacity of our #5 pick Witherspoon who was straps in college. This is a scary CB group. Diggs is a very underrated safety and is a ball hawking magnet. They also got Love from the Giants who is a solid Swiss Army knife player. I feel like Coby can take a step forward andMichael Jackson is a underrated piece for us. And if we get Jamal back and he can stay healthy, we are a top 5 secondary. We got to see it though but I believe #GoHawks

The good news is that the Seahawks secondary group seem to be more well defined in comparison to last year. So even if they play any variant of cover 3 or quarters/quarter half, Witherspoon is guy who can be left on an island and Woolen can develop more of his off ball skills. And they can hide him a bit better so teams don't straight up just run the ball at him.

it's his ability to find that extra gear at the last second that i was the most surprised by when first seeing him last season. as if he can play at 80% speed and keep pace with anyone. if he falls behind a bit due to a read or whatever he seems to be able to go 100% and make up the difference. just crazy.

I was a huge fan of Tariq Woolen when he played for UTSA, and I am still a fan of Tariq even after a team like the Seahawks drafted him. He is the perfect fit for Seattle and he is the reason the Hawks' defense is that successful in his time. If there is anyone who can catapult the Hawks through a playoff run, into the likes of division rival San Francisco (and even the East, be it Eagles, Cowboys, or even Giants), it's Tariq. Not to mention the Geno and friends led offense.

Cornerback is the hardest position outside of quarterback You gotta run backwards whilst the best athletes in the world run towards you with a direct plan, and you must react to their movements athletically and within the phase of the coverage you're being asked. Oh and even if you play 64/65 snaps perfectly, if you stumble on one play and get burnt, all the fans think you are trash. Truly a brutal position to play

~20 point higher QBR when targeted. More targets allowed per defensive snap (I love that stat, because it takes into account when they DON'T throw at you). If you actually want the answer. Also the QB-receiver combos that Gardner defended are league best. Tariq Woolen is great, no doubt, but there are no Burrow/DaVarr Chase shutdowns in his resume. With that profile comes a spotlight. Everyone knows Stephon Diggs beat Gardner for a chunk play in week 11. It reminds me of when, in Randy Moss' sixth game against Darrelle Revis he FINALLY got behind him for a deep catch, after being matched up one on one against each other for 5 games and being held under 40 yards in each game. It's a totally different margin for error: harder, supposedly unguardable opponents which you're expected to give up nothing to. Whereas if Woolen has a missed assignment here and there it's all under the radar.

0:50 Why did Cousins throw that??? 1:19 Goff doesn't see the wide open field behind his receiver and instead throws a terrible pass. Mariotta throws the ball late, Cousins has at least one more bad pass in here (underthrow). However, the video does highlight Woolen's athleticism and intelligence well as he's able to capitalize on these things. A lot of average QBs in here tho.
@t4d0W

That is the point. Woolen athleticism/skillset lends more towards a CB that invites take aways rather than locking a receiver match up down by the LoS.
