And the main character actually did commit sudoku in front of ppl in horrific and amazing ways. they end up adding only a few comical scenes of uno reversing life. his original script has the character trapped in that day for THOUSANDS OF YEARS. you see his mastery of piano and to master a thing takes roughly 10000 hours. the final movie has him serving roughly 81 years in the cycle.

They really do think programming content is somehow just you gain knowledge. No it's problem solving. Whatever you're watching you're probably not gonna benefit just from the presentation content. Most of it that's worthwhile in any way invites you to think about the utility of the content. Using sentinel values or always initially writing for-loops as infinite loops in performance sensitive algorithms for optimization? Like is a 2x-er gonna dig up a talk from 2018 out of his mind and understand the significance of that as a concept? Are they going to realize when to apply it in day to say without having toyed with it in their mind? No shot. Alexandrescu doesn't mess around he's got important things to say and if he pauses he's inviting you to think or clear your head.
