I am with Jamie on the betel nut. 🤢 Thanks for letting me take a ride along with you to some very remote places I have never heard of. It's an amazing geography lesson. I go look up the places and read a bit about them. I was surprised that people speak English in this area. Brit...needs Katie back.😊 Hope you had a nice trip home.

When I tried betelnut in Palau it was taken very differently. The nut was cut in half, sprinkled with the lye power then wrapped in a tobacco leaf. It didn't taste bad at all. It felt like having a 3 martini lunch for about 45 minutes then you were sober again. It was awesome.

"Right Stuff" gasket maker is used successfully on engine parts that need to retain oil. It comes in tubes similar to toothpaste tubes. I use Brake Clean to remove all oil residue before applying Right Stuff. Engine degreaser leaves behind an oil of its own, so I only clean gasket surfaces with Brake Clean.

You should have knots in that line if you want to use it to pull yourself back on the boat, it makes it so much easier or even better to have foot loops to rest in or climb in on a regular distance.

Top stuff, I went to PNG back in the early 90s. Crazy place, had a good travel about there. Never fancied the beetle nut though. The nationals called in something like ‘boo eye’, I’m sure it’s not spelt like that. Stayed in Port Moresby, did some four wheel driving up to Goroka in the highlands, also out to Rabaul on New Britain Island. Very different to anywhere else I have been.

cool episode, dunno about the nuts guys but still enjoyed what you showed. always good to see some equipment resolution, makes you wonder how you could make access to equipment's that are in hard to access spots easier? maybe either the top half or bottom half of the cupboard hinges up or down, secured by bolts either side providing better access ...

Hey Colin Had the same issue with the gearbox, what happens is the O’ring at the top leaks then water finds its way in and it’s done… First thing we did is put a cap on the winch when not in use then ordered a gearbox fromBonfiglioli, from a distributor in the states, from Harken it’s 1000$, from the distributor around 300$….

@terryscully73894 күн бұрын
The Yapese of Micronesia use betel leaf not the stick seen here. Should have been advised drinking and betelnut are not a good combo unless you are used to it, I've had many a spin out when having a chew after a heavy booze session. We use the whole fruit, put on the leaf, a bit of tobacco if so desired, put on the lime, wrap and go for it..
