How much skin in the game financially do these investors look for? Ive owned an ALF before with my wife. We sold the house about 4 years ago.

Usually, 3-6 months' worth of your expenses is what they would want you to have in liquidity.

Do you remember how many months went by with your first facility before getting your license and first client? I feel like waiting for licensing to approve or deny is the biggest cost and worry of starting a facility. Timing will be important so that I'm not wasting money.

Great question. It took me about 3 months from starting the license process until I got my first client. It took me 1 week from when I passed my initial inspection for licensure. I did a lot of pre-licensure marketing to make sure that when I passed my inspection I could start placing those interested residents.

What is the difference between a business plan and a POC. Doesn’t the business plan do the same thing?

do you remember roughly how much money it took to start that first facility?

My very first facility, it cost me $30k to get going. It was a small 5-bed facility.
