Weatherproofing and Tiling the Roof Stage:
Underlayment Installation:
Before the tiles are laid, a protective underlayment (often called roofing felt or tar paper) is spread across the roof's decking. This acts as an additional moisture barrier, preventing any rainwater that gets past the tiles from penetrating the interior.
Laying Roof Tiles:
Roof tiles are methodically laid starting from the eaves (the roof's lower edge) and moving upwards to the ridge (the top). They overlap in a way that channels water off the roof, ensuring it doesn’t seep through.
Depending on the design, ridge tiles might cap off the very top of the roof, sealing the junction where the two sides of the roof meet.
Fixing and Securing Tiles:
Tiles can be nailed, clipped, or adhered, depending on the type and regional practices. This ensures they remain in place, resisting wind uplift and other external forces.
Flashing Installation:
Flashing is a thin sheet or strip of water-resistant material, commonly metal, used to prevent water intrusion at areas of the roof like valleys, chimneys, vents, or where the roof meets walls. This is crucial for preventing leaks.
Guttering and Downpipes:
Once the roof is tiled, guttering is affixed to the eaves. Downpipes are also installed to channel rainwater away from the building's foundation.
Inspection and Quality Assurance:
The roof is inspected to ensure that tiles are properly laid, flashings are well-sealed, and there are no potential leak points. It's essential to confirm that the roof is fully waterproofed.
Interior Protection:
With the roof effectively tiled and sealed, the extension's interior is now shielded from the elements. This means that internal work can commence, such as insulation installation, drywall, electrical, and plumbing, without the risk of rainwater damage.
This stage is pivotal because construction can progress without significant weather-related interruptions once the extension is shielded from rain. Properly executed, it ensures the longevity and comfort of the extended space.

Since Biden took office, there seem to have been more unfavorable results in America. These results include effects on the markets, such as price declines and sharp increases in inflation, as well as bank failures. I wonder if the sudden increase in interest rates will help value investors or if it would be wiser to stay away from the stock and financial markets for the time being.

I genuinely appreciate having a portfolio coach who assists me in making daily market decisions. They possess a unique set of skills that allows them to take advantage of both long and short positions, offering the potential for substantial gains while also providing protection against market downturns. Furthermore, they have access to exclusive information and research, virtually ensuring superior performance. I've been working with a portfolio coach for over two years, and during that period, my earnings have exceeded $300,000. It has been an outstanding experience!

Politely I entirely agree. We want to hear from them, especially why they are doing something a particular way etc, but this could be achieved through voice overs and shorter clips of people. I recognise he does a lot of voiceovers in his topical videos but there does seem to be a lot less in the extension series.

Best thing i ever did was invest in a palm nailer when nailing roofing straps or support brackets . Your plumbers is 100% correct , push fit or sharkbite fitting shouldnt be used behind walls or places you cannot get access to . Over here in the usa they use tar shingle for roofing which in the uk if tar shingles was used it would be relogated to the garden shed . Your add on is looking great , all the best
@SkillBuilder
@SkillBuilder Жыл бұрын
You can use compression fittings on plastic, there is no need for push-fit. Also it is good to run plastic under floors and put all the fittings above. I have a palm nailer but the PPN nailder is much quicker for hangers.

@@alec1113It's quite a common mistake by people...perhaps not plumbers..to think that compression fittings and plastic pipe do not mix. I love pushfit , but have had to use compression fittings occasionally with it.

Double it in London and then take the customer's phone number and multiply that by the square root of the last number, add on the congestion charge and a bit for parking fines and £10.00 sandwiches. Let's call it £6.k per square metre for cash.
