I have to agree with Betsy, the recoil looks significant based on how much the rifle is jumping. I had a similar issue with my kids and have developed some low recoiling loads for them. I now have several loads using Hammer Hunter bullets in the 85gr-100gr range that have proven to be devastating on deer. We have taken 4 deer so far this season with these loads and have been impressed by the terminal efficacy of these lightweight bullets.

I about fell out of my chair, laughing. Having been married for 50 years and was born in the same year as Ron, I wonder if we could get a group rate on marriage counselors. I can’t get my wife even to get behind a rifle, too much recoil, too loud, it startles me. I just had to laugh. Ron, be thankful that Betsy will get behind a rifle at all. And she’s taken down some pretty nice critters to boot. Count your blessings, and by the way, with all these advertisements during your KZbin videos, you would think that you could afford a couple of targets. Thanks for everything. Awesome video. 6:15

Hi Ron and Betsy, I have found the varget speed powders easier to get shooting well in 7mm-08, especially with a short barrel. Slower powders that fill the case seem like they are still burning when the bullet leaves the barrel, making it bark and higher recoil without much extra velocity

Hi Ron. You can laugh at me now. I just put a brand new 1-5 leupold scope on my winchester 94 30-30 made in 1978. The rifle cost 98 dollars new from Murphys mart. It's been my rifle since then. I shot the rifle in last Sunday at my brother Kevin house. At 100 yards after sighting in my rifle will land 170 winchester power points into a 1" sticky dot on cardbord at 100 yards every time. I love this rifle. My mother and dad gave it to me for Christmas in 1o78. I've hunted Pennsylvania, Alaska Maine south Dakota and took game in every state with it. I love my 30-30 . Make fun all you like. If I was charged by a grizzly that wanted to tear my head off and the eat me. This is the rifle I want in my hands at that moment God bless 😊

I carry my Winchester 94 30-30 in grizzly bear country every year. I have run into two bears in the last 10 years and both times I was in the least bit worried if it would get the job done if needed. Its great to see you guys out and about enjoying shooting and hunting together. May we all be so lucky one day. The only thing ill say is." Before i do i understand ron has forgotten more about guns and ammo that i know, he definitely made sure this ammo and rifle was ok before shooting" For those who may be new to this if the bolt doesn't feel right when you attempt to close it please stop and check everything. Something is worng from the sizing, case length, chamber. Unless you are a skilled handloader like ron at no point should you have to "force" or "fight" ammunition into battery.

Great vedio Ron ! But I have to speak on this . Suppressors might suppress the sound but all that push and pressure from the bullet leaving the muzzle has to go somewhere, and the way suppressors are designed it pushes the recoil straight back to your shoulder OUCH. In a way your wife is right ! Watching her shoot she gets a big push back from the recoil . Now if that was a ported suppressor, now that would not only tame the sound but the recoil as well . Suppressors are nice until you have to clean the baffels then its a pain in the butt lol .Muzzle Breaks !!!! Not all muzzle breaks are created equal. Alot of the muzzle breaks on the market today are not good at all . Then you have good ones that reduce recoil tremendously. You can take a 300 win mag and make it feel like a 243 win . To the point that my 10yr daughter and my 12 & 14-year-old sons shoot our 7 WSM and 300WSM all the time for hunting and shooting. With a good muzzle break you can make a 243 feel like shooting a 22 hornet . We put a 5 port custom muzzle break on my 416 Rigby with 400gr pill the recoil feels between a 30-06 & 300 win mag belive or not. It's actually a nice bench rifle now . Moral of this story ear plugs are cheep muzzle breaks are under $300 & suppressors are $1500-$4000 PLUS $200 Fed Tax plus 6mo to a year in paper work jail . That's the cost of a good/custom new rifles & scope , Ammo with ear plugs and muzzle breaks lol . Do your research before you buy anything Rifle , pistol , muzzle loader , Crossbows, compound bows , PCP air rifles, related so you know what your getting . And practice practice practice makes you confident in your abilities with your Freedom Tools. Really enjoy watching your programs Ron they are always fun and educational . God bless you and your family God-bless America 🇺🇸 🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇨🇱🇨🇱🇨🇱🇨🇱

No daytime activity, only night time bucks showing up on camera. I am big into archery so I get to hunt for another month or so with a week of muzzleloader coming up if I want to take out a rifle again. Finally getting colder temps now but still not seeing much daytime movement. I am by no means an expert hunter so kinda trying to figure out my next plan of action. When my wife or 9-year old daughter says this has too much recoil, I listen because I know it is going to affect their shooting and their desire to shoot. I was the women in my life to enjoy shooting and not fear their firearms. Instead of this light Kimber, we have a heavier 7-08 weatherby. And am working on handloads for it with light recoil...would rather have 2500fps on a rifle they love rather than 2900fps in a rifle they are scared/hesitant of.

Afraid there is no best that's cheap. 6.5 CR likely most affordable, 7mm PRC and its ilk probably easiest to get on target (sufficient MC with high B.C. bullets) using factory rifles and ammo. 6.8 Western a good option, though few target loads. 6.5 PRC for hunting instead of the weaker Creedmoor.
