Hannah's Meadow is near to where you parked. Named after Hannah Hauxwell, who lived alone at Low Birk Hatt Farm without the luxury of electricity and running water. There was a documentary film about her life called ' Too Long a Winter '. The water she collected was from them very reservoirs you car camped at. Bit of interest there, and it is a good film to watch.

A few we places you might be interested in, The Solway coast is beautiful, I heard you mention Dumfries, that's near my home village of Kelloholm. Sanquhar is a nice wee town, Moniaive a cute wee village, so many beautiful place and walks. Have a great time.:)

You know that microwave rice?….if you quick fry it instead of using water to boil it, it comes out a lot better. (On some packs it says you can either fry, boil or nuke it.) you may have to add a smidge of water….

Love the hair 👍. On your way back down from Scotland, you can always go via Lancashire and drive through the Trough of Bowland & Pendle Hill . There are lots of great walks through fab countryside, plus there is also the 45 mile Pendle Way which can be done in 8 sections. There are plenty of parking spots through the Trough and also around Pendle Hill for you to stay overnight . People underestimate Lancashire........it's not all grim up north as many think it is 🤣. Looking forward to seeing your tour in Scotland.

There are quite a few nice park ups in the trough of Bowland, proper wilderness! Also nearby look for Jubilee tower for a stunning view of Morecambe bay.

I was thinking the same thing about the reservoir overflow as you said it! Wow can I get that car detailer out down here to do our crib? Bloody midges 😡. I react to the bastards. Olive oil mixed with dettol my step mother use to use on her. Messy but it saved her getting infected bites. Really looking forward to your Scotland vids AND the beanies! 🇦🇺🌸

I stayed in a place where the air was humming from them. Their where so bloody many. Drove us insane for two night. Back in my army cadet days 🙂. Our key fob stopped working this morning , a message came up on dashboard about faulty key fob needed replacing, when we opened car this morning , car alarm went off and key wouldn't start the car , we have a vauxhall like you , luckily we had another key fob otherwise we wouldn't of been able to drive car until we brought new key ,have u got another one xx

Hi Adam, enjoy your trip, it’s been a while in the making. Funnily enough I did the North Coast 500 in January 2019. And I did it in a….Zafira!! I remember taking out the front passenger seat though to make room for supplies etc. and just did my cooking/brewups on a gas stove in the footwell! I put a single mattress in the back and slept like a king every night haha. Thing was the whole NC500 was empty and I barely met another soul. It was the trip of a lifetime to be honest. Absolutely stunning scenery, like I’ve never seen before. Our country is highly underexplored I think. Anyway, I didn’t feel like I was slumming it coz I was heading to India in February with my Dad for a two week 5star trip that he was treating us both to. And I then converted a little Mercedes Citan and did the same Scotland trip in 2020! Great fun doing it stealth, and never, ever paying for a campsite.
