Getting Lost In My Thoughts And In My Town

Leave it up to me to get lost in the middle of town 😅 I thought it would be fun to go find some side roads away from traffic, but apparently I am not very good at paying attention to directions when I am looking at a map! I didn’t know if I would make a video out of it or not, but I threw on a camera just for the heck of it, so the subject of this unplanned video is my very poorly planned ride on some roads I didn’t know existed in my area.
For anyone who want's to send me pictures of their bikes:
PLEASE SEND LARGE CLEAR PHOTOS!
1080p x 1080p is the MINIMUM we can work with, so please do your best at making sure your photos are large and not blurry 🙂 And send more than one if you can as well!
Email pictures to: redrider.canada.bc@gmail.com
Only motorcycle related emails please - sorry, but I just don't have the time to engage in personal conversations.
Thank you for your understanding.
If you DON'T want your bike highlighted in a future video showing viewers bikes then make sure to mention it in your email. Other than that, expect to see your bike in one of my videos!
If you would like my PO BOX address you can find it in the description to my channel by following this link:
/ @redridercanadabc
For those of you who would like to support this channel with a donation, you can do so here:

Thanks for coming around, and I will catch ya on the flipside!

Funny how those random accidentally taken routes often lead to the most awesome riding. They're even better when you remember how to do it again.

Angel, I appreciate how you patiently wait at red traffic lights without constantly racking the throttle on your beloved motorcycle. The amateurs where I live whack the throttle to ad nauseam attempting to draw attention and be annoying. You’re really a pro and I like it. God bless.

attention is sometimes needed as not to get ran over, just a thought.....but it could be for what you were saying as well :) I know some, lol...I crack my pipe through parking lots...Peeps not looking...

Normally the only time I crack the throttle at a light is when my bike is running crappy and I need to keep it alive lol. But that’s not often at all.

Unfortunately, some folks may complain about me. So many bikers are getting plowed into lately, though. I have started swerving and revving a little more when I come up to stop signs and lights. It may not help me get seen, but it might. It's not to be a jerk, I just want to make it where I'm going.

Thanks again for another great ride! When I was a kid and my father took us on trips he would purposely leave the main roads and head off to parts unknown as an adventure and we saw some pretty neat stuff like you do! Im not sure how many times we were lost but we eventually made it home. It sure is pretty where you are.

When my wife and I were kids we used to get up go to breakfast on the bike and just start riding on the weekends. We would try to get lost to find new areas to ride. My wife logged a lot of miles on the back. They were great times. I love watching your springer front suspension work who you use the chest mount. Had no idea how much they actually worked. You take care and stay safe Angel.

Pacific Mike has a toggle switch on his Shovelhead road bike that mimics a VOES switch so that his laptop tuned DynaTek ignition has one tune for the flatlands when his ignition thinks he is in cruise mode and another, more advanced tune for the mountains when the toggle switch is flipped, mimicing the VOES when the throttle is wide open. Tricking technology to have separate ignition curves for altitude like Pacific Mike, or to make kicking easier like my hero Red Rider does, that's the ol' Hot Rod spirit!

I do love you and your bikes Miss Angel. In my prayers for you I am hoping that woman ignoring the stop sign gets you to STOP at every sign. Karma? With the rain falling on my camper I look out the window at the pond knowing I need to ride to town tomorrow to cash my check and make a deposit. I've always flipped a coin at intersections and this time when my bike needed repairs I found a job with a log home builder. I'm camping on his property and notching Cedar beams for a house's entry truss. I've my old 87 Goldwing this time and the other morning in the dark she wouldn't start, I'd flipped the kill switch and didn't realize it. Felt like an old fool when I shined the flashlight down on it. I still need to tune and sync the four carbs before I do any serious rides. I am so happy when you find the spirit of discovery on your rides! Motorcycles give us the most when we don't commute or destination ride on them, they like us love beautiful hardly ridden roads and spectacular views. Thank You for sharing and please don't be embarrassed about "getting lost" give a prayer of Thanks and keep smiling your Beautiful smile Young Lady. With Love and Respect you are in my prayers Hoka Hey

Better that it was just the kill switch than an actual problem! Even if it makes us feel silly, its always a relief to find the issue is just our own little mix up and can be fixed easily haha. Reminds me of one time kicking the heck out of my shovel trying to get it going for what felt like forever (this was just after the engine rebuild so I was trying to figure out the sequence again) I finally got it started and went to flick the lights on, but instead I accidentally flipped the kill switch 😣 I was so upset with myself!! lol

We have all been there, a realization your temporarily misplaced, that queasy feeling of not bein in "control", at least you got to enjoy the new route before becoming obsessed on finding your way back to familiar roads. I want to share this saying I found, that best describes me and reminded me of you while I was watching last night. "The lone biker lives in a world of back roads and small town bars. If you know the the roads that border an area, you are never really lost. If you go far enough west you will run into hiway X, north and you hit hiway Y, south takes you to hiway Z etc. You may not know exactly where you are, but you aren't lost. As long as you have gas you have nothing to worry about. Just hit the road and explore.

Red, I wanted your opinion...most all the big Hondas have interconnected brake systems, so that if you apply the front brake, both front and rear brakes are applied, and vice versa. I noticed your driveway is steep and graveled. I would want to apply the rear brake only in that if I used the front brake, the front wheel would immediately lock up and skid in the gravel. With interconnected brakes, I don't have that option. What do you think?
@RedRiderCanadaBC
@RedRiderCanadaBC 4 ай бұрын
Yea I don't think it makes sense to have the brakes interconnected like that at all for exactly that reason 🤔 I always only use my back brake on gravel and dirt and I always have flashback to when I first started riding and was going down my uncles steep, long dirt driveway and when I went to pull my front brake he was at the top of the hill yelling "don't use your front brake on dirt!!" I don't know how Hondas are setup, but I am assuming they must has an ABS system built in also 🤷‍♀️
