Always aim for a point beyond your target to ensure maximum penetration and impact. Another excellent lesson in applying the techniques of WW2 Unarmed Combat.🥋🙏

Agreed always strike towards the back of your target not the surface. Drive through …

At 1:59, this is a demonstration of how far the hand should penetrate, it is not a training drill, if you train this as at 5:03 you are training to miss the face, just like the circus knife thrower who tried to kill his wife and missed. Same principle as firearms training, if you practice shooting at the sides of the target instead of the center then under stress you miss the center.

Great video but the points you make is why I don't believe in "eyes first". The eyes are merely a bonus if you happen to get them. Trying to target the eyes slows you down which is not what you want here with the drive thru. We also have to look at the fact that the techniques were changed or tweaked from basic training as they were used in combat, this is mentioned in later books. As someone who has learned 20 ways to defend against a round house kick, it is much better to have a few go-to techniques than 200 variations for the brain to have to decide from.
