This is interesting, Colonel Monstery in his book by Ben Miller suggests that blows with the cane should be directed toward the arm and the face, much the same in singlestick, a figure eight or four strike pattern that can be trained under pressure to defend yourself from multiple foes. Would you say only two handed use works for self defence?

I was watching a collaboration between tribe 13/tactical combat systems & urban combatives. The urban combatives instructor kept showing that ankle smash from behind. When the opponent was on the belly. I have a local Greco-Roman guy but I'm afraid to get close to him because he's kind of a weirdo. The ankle thing. I remember learning it from a Krav Maga IDF fighting system but to stand on the foot and push the opponent backwards to snap the Ankle. It's crazy to see you doing some of that work. I think the very first time I seen it it was done by Luke Holloway in a silat thing. He was doing some crazy stuff with tomahawks.

That rabbit punched to the back of the head I seen it in a US Army hand-to-hand combat book I've also seen Matie share it with edged in stabbing weapons in the hand-to-hand combat book, they suggested using the military helmet of the enemy sentury, but they also suggested using the knife edge of the hand to the back of the head and it's called a rabbit punch is it lethal? Now I've also seen other instructors on fight fast to show this sort of wrap-around punch like Bas Rutten does when he gets behind the ear with his pankration slaps. Instead what they're doing is like a reverse hammerfist and they said it was a knockout. Right to the back of the head. So knockout or potentially lethal should we play around with that with unarmed combatives or not?

I feel like you forgot about denying positional dominance through your own movement. I remember two guys were starting to pincer me from left and right, but I moved hard right, flanking both of them. As the conversation started I was already 5 meters away and kept creating distance with a hand in my pocket. They likely understood that I have some tricks up my sleeve and walked away.

My mother used to make me go to bed without any supper. This is good because if your homeless you would eat what a billy goat would not. Hunger is something to adjust to . I used to make sure i ate once a day. Ellipse exrcise bike . I say. My income is under attack. I learned some about pawn shops. My uncle used to have a bayanett in the marine core. Butt them .

This will always be the case, because the impulse from the brain to the muscles goes about 2 tenths of a second, and the small finger has nothing to do with it, especially since the opponent holds tense hand muscles, which slows him down, while the striker hits with a loose hand from below. I recommend equalizing the chances a bit and practicing reflexes together, Put a boxer's paw on one hand. Your opponent can dodge with his hand as soon as he sees your move, while you try to hit the bat as quickly and accurately as possible, hitting from the bottom with your hand, e.g. with an open hand or with a hook to the boxer's jaw/paw.

This lesson demonstrates why attacks are superior to counterattacks, and why crash-and-cover tactics like that used by Pat O’Neill are superior to blocks: action is always faster than reaction. Trivia: In the 1960 Western classic The Magnificent Seven, veteran gunfighter Chris Adams (Yul Brynner) uses the same test to evaluate the speed and reflexes of the wannabe gunslinger Chico (Horst Bucholz).

There was also a training film the Navy had which showed various hand to hand techniques. I believe the instructor was a police officer who also coached wrestling. It was interesting to watch and practically it's own martial art.

Alert! At about 09:45 in this video there are a few Ninjas seen skulking around the nline of brush near the left side of the screen. They could be conducting tactical spying or possibly it was an aborted attack on you and your training partner.

Reminds me of what Bruce Tegner said in his books on self-defense including his one on police defensive tactics, that when it comes to teaching hand to hand it is not a prerequisite to be a blackbelt but to have a background in physical education.

The Sykes and Fairbairn stuff Is brilliant my grandfather was a rat of Tobruk and early SAS and a unarmed combat instructor in the Aussie army trained in the Sykes and Fairbairn systems he was teaching me how to fight with lots of dirty tricks that I loved from the time I was a 4 year old.im Peter gradon a descendant of Rollo gradon the first vikingar king of Normans his younger brother was Rurik gradon the Rus or Roda some say because of his red hair we are also of the vaeringjar or varjager or varangian clan the de vere's as in my part de vere grand uncle sir Winston Churchill certainly a fierce Norman warrior and one of my relatives sir Michael Graydon was the air chief marshal of the royal air force for seven years.the Aussie still use the good old Sykes and Fairbairn systems they studied hsingi I Chuan and Baji Chuan and Bagus Chuan styles that don't really like a Shaolin based Kung Fu much in the way of kicks the only Kung Fu style similar to what Sykes and Fairbairn studied is wing Chun Kung Fu which I have done many years ago also they got stuff from judo or traditional ju jutsu the Aussies were also taught ju jutsu by a bloke called Tommy Turner yes this stuff I basic easy to learn and I showed it to a boxer mate and he loved it through that a much less stronger person could easily take down a much stronger person he thought it was brilliant
