you recently got a Google Home mini and then told Google that you got it because you set it up in your home so yesyou should see lots of new ads about Google products and Google smart home things. now consider a smart home hub and accessories such as smart switches and outlets and things you can turn on and off by scheduler under conditions or by your voice. and each time you look up one of these items or set up one of these items you're going to get ads related to these items and their competitors. you do know if you start talking about step ladders and aluminum ladders and folding ladders in different types of ladders in front of your Android or iphone device, within a couple of days you'll start seeing ads about ladders and step stools. you don't have to buy things just go start shopping or even have discussions with your friends in front of your phone and eventually you'll see ads influenced. my Android actually has some degree of control of that in the settings it's not avoidable it's just a type of control. spying on you is normal and has been for a while.

like the features, setup was difficult for some of my devices (August Door lock, kzbin.infoUgkxhB5YOMNj04GuoAosExygP4cH-dKeb4aB Bose speaker)... but all switches and outlets (5), thermostat, tankless water heater. Unfortunately all I can do is turn on/off Bose. It doesn't support volume or changing channels, but I believe that is due to the particular speaker I have.... Worth getting if you already have other devices to use it with... I don't sit around and ask Alexa questions much so that doesn't really matter to me....

I love my google home devices. Strongly suggest exploring IFTTT for creative control. For example, commercials are automatically skipped when I watch a TiVo recording with skip feature. It might not sound like a big deal but trust me, it is.

Thanks channel and advice, I'm a Google home mini newbie. The weather on your tv, music alarm features do work outside the US. This is what you need to do: 1. Set phone and the Home app to US English. 2. Hey presto 3. You will also get a choice of a male voice, by doing this. It wasn't available until I changed to US English.

Holy sh*t, I've been slowly doing new things with my home. And I knew I needed a mini in my bedroom. But wow I didn't know the home was so robust already. Definitely gonna get 2 homes and put one in my son's bedroom, and one in my bedroom. That cast feature is going to come in handy. Especially since you can do it from outside of the home location.

Is there a way to disable the confirmation message? For example, when I say "Okay google, turn on the living room lamp", I'd like to the Google assistant to just turn on the light and not say "Okay, turning on the living room lamp". That gets annoying pretty quickly to hear that every day.

I know this video is a bit old, but one cool thing I found out yesterday is that you can turn your TV on using your voice if you have a chromecast attached to the TV and the TV has CEC turned on (most newer TVs have this function). It'll turn it to whatever input the Chromecast is on, but it's pretty cool to be able to turn the TV on without having to buy something like a Harmony Hub.

I also noticed that one of my TVs apparently doesn't provide power to the USB port unless it's turned on, so I can't use this feature with that TV if I have the chromecast powered by the TVs USB port.

undoubtedly very informative, Nice & Professional video ! a simple thing i wish to achieve additionally, bit different. i have Android TV that doesn't have Bluetooth built in and the google home. (i saw all those bluetooth options/extensions, but don't want to add complexity where you have to permanently expect audio to come out of those aux output connected speakers) simply, i would like to have option to cast audio to Google Home (from time to time depending on content i'm watching)...is there an app that can enable TV to throw audio output to the Google Home mini speaker, just over WIFI...not over Bluetooth Also, i saw all those hometheatre expensive receivers where they have multiple HDMI inputs and optical input options but that doesn't seem fair option as i don't want to spend too much on this selective requirement as no use for those huge speakers and surround sound stuff

Yes, it acts as another smart devices in other rooms like a bedroom so you communicate between places in your home. You can also ask it to do commands like play music or set reminders and it doesn't cost nearly as much as a regular google home.

So I'm not entierly sure if I have the 2nd Gen Chromecast or not, but I'll ask this question anyway. Do I have to be on/using the Input I plugged the Chromecast into in order for the mini to show me the weather? Say I'm watching my regularly scheduled programming on my cable company device that is obviously plugged into a different input on the TV, will the feature still work when I ask the mini to show me the weather on the TV. It seems like a stupid question to ask, but I'm not always streaming my content.

Can you use a Home with Spotify what is using another device to stream/play the music? Let's say I say Google Home that play a song and it starts playing on the computer, just as I can do it with Google Assistant on my phone. So, now I know, that you can't command other Spotify devices from Google Home. It says "nothing is playing at the moment". You can however control music from phone or pc if it's played on Home, except the sound.
