Hi, I just found ur channel and I love it. I am also hard of hearing myself and i have a pair of normal hearing aid but lately, I've started to hear less and I'm thinking about to do a Baha on both on my ears. I would've loved if u could do an updated version and talk pros and cons etc

I'm happy for you young lady. I am 41 yrs old and have had hearing problems/loss my entire life and wasn't recently presented with the option of the Baha but was sceptical. After seeing your video I think im gonna do it. Thank you

Thank you so much for sharing your story. Very informative about the sounds that the microphone picks up and only you hear and also the video made me smile about some of the new hearing situations you encountered. All the best to you!

Happy for you and I am on this journey too. I want to kindly mention that the music makes it very hard for me to hear what you are saying.... maybe lower the volume of that (or eliminate it). Thanks for this info.

I am profoundly deaf in my left ear and have been strongly encouraged to get a Baha. But, I really don’t know what to do. Your video really helped and I will let you know what I decide!!!

Thank you for sharing !!! Please share - now that u have the BAHA, how often do u need to go back for FOLLOWUP? Do u need to see an audiologist for a regular hearing check-up?
@MakennaJean Жыл бұрын
Hi! I'm actually getting a new implant soon, so won't have the BAHA much longer, but during these past few years I have just my typical annual checkup.
@audiology7263 Жыл бұрын
Oh 😱 WHY are u getting a new implant ? Is it different from the BAHA ? During the typical check-up do u guys just re-do a hearing test ? You are so brave, i love your positive attitude about the entire situation. Please continue to share ur journey with us and make new videos regarding ur new implant 💙

@@audiology7263 new implant is just an upgrade and something they believe will work even better for me. I'll explain in a video soon! And yes they do a hearing check

So ive been for a hearing test where they put on those headphones, and then they put on that bone conductor that vibrates behind my ear . So for your hearing tests im guessing they only test with the bone conductor vibrator on the ear with the BAHA?
@MakennaJean Жыл бұрын
@@audiology7263 no, they check my normal hearing ability and adjust the BAHA based on that

Random question, how were u able to hear the audiologist at the beginning of the session when she was asking about your healing from surgery?
@MakennaJean Жыл бұрын
I was reading her lips, not hearing her

In combination with anticipation... Most questions a doctor may ask are pretty easy to guess🤣👍
