I got my ferret from a pet store too, everytime I tried craigslist they ferret was already sold or they wouldn’t reply. And I checked online at the shelters everyday and they had no ferrets. so I just got mine at a pet store

Please get another ferret and what food are you feeding? Ferrets are extremely sociable and intelligent animals. They require company to live a full happy life. Ferrets need more than one not only for company but for stimulation and for health benefits. Ferrets can't have baths it's actually really bad to bathe them as they produce this oil to protect their skin and washing them can actually strip that away which causes skin irritation and can cause sickness. Other ferrets groom each Other and lick each Other to keep them clean. Also ferrets require routine ear cleaning and unless you know what you are doing it's extremely hard to get it right and if you don't they can get horrible ear infections which can cause more health issues which is why more than one is good as they groom in the ears too. Ferrets likes rats require lots is stimuli and will benefit a buddy as they teach each Other herd behavior and learn to respect boundaries and dominance. They are prey animals and wrestle for fun and without that natural stimuli they can grow increasingly bored which will make them take out their aggression on people which can lead to bitting. Another reason why 2 is ideal because it's actually a lot easier to raise 2 than 1 as you don't have to be the sole person to get their energy out they play with each other and tire each other out. Another thing about ferrets tho is they do need vaccinations just like dogs and they need them to be done every year or they can catch horrible illnesses. Ferrets are the only mammal that can catch a human illness so be extremely careful and a depressed ferret can have a weakened immune system which can make them more prone to illness. Ferrets are a lot of work and believe me when I say more than one is the better option but if you absolutely refuse then there's a lot of things you need to change to male a adequate and good lifestyle for your ferret.

People like you annoy me so much. You're right about getting two and all of that, but all ferrets are different. A past ferret of mine was solitary, she didnt appreciate it when I bought her and her sister. I separated them. When they died (RIP Halo and Piper) I bought another boy who absolutely loved having another ferret around. So please, before assuming all ferrets are alike, understand that all ferrets are actually different.

You could be more patient I waited a whole year for mine and if you really knew where they come from you would be horrified also they are so small because they are taken from their mothers very young. Most ferrets from pet stores have many health issues such as bladder stones, insomnia, ear mites, intestinal parasites.

I have a dog, 2 cats, 4 leopard (two of which mom gecko laid and I hatched), 2 goldfish (we’ve had them for about 8 years and there longer than a foot. One of them is sick and we feed her by hand), 2 white doves, 8 neon tetras, 2 Cory Dora catfish, 6 shrimp, a bunch of snails, and a rabbit. All of them are rescued, not from the pet store and not from a shelter or breeder, rescues. They would have died, but anyway my grandparents have 8 cats and in the past we have had frogs, tadpoles, and other bunnies, dogs, cats, and have pet sitted for other leopard geckos, breaded dragons, guiñes pig and fish. And my parents said that when we moved to a bigger house (hopefully the summer or spring) we can adopt ferrets and ginuea pigs. (P.S. my moms a vet!) Also who’s here in 2020?! 😄😉☺️
