Not a cleaning tip but when it gets hot you can use any of your small mammals kibble food soak it and add bit of their fav food the it’s their food and something to stay cool .

I have used that angry orange stuff for years around my pet room! My sugar gliders are competing with your ferrets for stinky pets lol. The smells don’t bother me but I always need to consider guests!

Hey Em! I have four completely raw-fed and free-roam ferrets. ❤️ I feed only whole prey that I breed and raise myself (rats, mice, and African soft furs) as it's much more ethical than supporting companies where you can't guarantee how the animals are raised. Even feeders deserve love and respect! All of my ferrets are rescues, and I've switched varying ages. The youngest is just turning one, and my oldest is just turning seven! I switched my oldest, Sugar, when she was five years old. 😁 To convert them, I cut the food into small chunks, and rub it on their gums. For whole mice, I put them on a string and make them seem "alive." This activates a hunting instinct in most ferrets, and many will try to eat the prey after "hunting" it! Soupies also work where you grind and blend the meat together, and add something they like. A lot of people use a bit of salmon oil and/or egg. ☺️ I know this is long, but I hope it helps!! I only want to see the best for your furkids, and raw is definitely the way to do that. ❤️

Transition ferrets to raw can be tricky but what I would do is I would blend them like chicken tenderloin soups and slowly make the chicken chunks bigger and bigger. Eventually, get them to eat it in a big piece and then try to get them to eat a chicken wing, bone and all. And then try to introduce them to organs. I would look up Pazuandfriends on KZbin! She is all about raw feeding and she has a nice mentoring program.

Those ferret bowls are great! I've been using dishes designed for birds for my four large male rats, but since they have a fair old appetite I have to fill two dishes at a time. Putting dishes in which don't attach to the bars is a great way to lose the dish until the next time I do a cage deep clean.

I think Dobby is the most wonderful example of a ferret That I have seen in years... We finally found this week the old lair of our late ferret Everything from one side to the other is full of things she stole Like just about all of our socks Pacifiers And baby bottles (She was free roamin ferret) i so miss her... But she passed away at the respectable age of 14 years...

I recently became a fan. I love watching your ferret videos. I am a long time ferret owner and have seen and dealt with many things. Your videos are about the only one that hits that nail on the head when it comes to these guys. Right now I have 4. 2 boys- Morty who is 2.5 yrs, Bandit who is 6 and I have 2 girls B who is 2 and Cinnamon who is about 5 months. My description for them is the perfect mixture of a cat and a dog. Please remember to add water to your kibble before you feed it, kibble is severely dehydrating on them and since ferrets are not natural water drinkers they rely on their food to get most of their hydration! Raw food in the wild is full of water, so normally they wouldn't have to worry about dehydration, but kibble is like a sponge and provides no hydration whatsoever unless you add water.

@@moshack Water bottles have chipped many many ferret teefs, don't give water bottles. They also don't provide nearly enough water, if you tap your finger on the end it's just one drop every time which is a very slow and annoying process that often leads to chewing on the spout, which then leads to chipped teeth.

@@Grey-wp5xu That is because you are not using the proper sized water bottle. But in special cases a small water dish that they can not dive into will work. Just remove it after they Finish drinking. My Ferrets never chip their teeth on their water bottles.

@@moshack How would the size of the water bottle effect the chewing? I've seen ferrets use all sorts of water bottles and they still chew quite hard on them. It also doesn't excuse the fact that they get very very little water per lick. They shouldn't have to spend more than 2 minutes drinking to get enough water. Water bowls have always worked for me and my community of over 500 people. The ferrets may dig in it, or dunk their faces in, but they will be getting proper hydration and that's the most important part. Would you rather continue to use a bottle which is widely known to cause problems with ferrets, or just use a clip on bowl and be safe for them? I mean absolutely no hate. It's nobody's fault if they haven't heard of one thing or another.
